OBSERVATIONS

I'm not really a fan of wrestling, but my husband watches it every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Yikes!  As you can imagine, I've started watching, too.  Of course, it doesn't hurt that I have a HUGE star crush on John Cena and Roman Reigns. (lol)

Anyhoo, because of all this wrestling, I'm now hooked on Guilty Pleasure # 1 - Total Divas, which just started the new season this past Sunday.  I can't figure it out, but I'm glued to this show, have an entirely new perspective because you get to see all of the really cool stuff that goes on behind the scenes.  Still, I don't readily admit to my friends that I watch a bunch of scantily clad women and men throwing each other around in the ring, so it'll be our secret, ok?

Guilty Pleasure #2 -  Erotic Novels.  Yep, I fan myself regularly while reading one of the latest steamy novels from Cathryn Fox, Delilah Devlin or Joey Hill, Eden Bradley.  You may not believe it, but there is an art to writing romance novels that focus on heat and vivid sex, but I love it.  Friends don't actually read any of my books, and my husband thinks I'm nuts, but they all marvel at the collection proudly stacked on my bookshelves.  I read other novels, of course, but romance has a super special place in my heart.

Guilty Pleasure #3 - My husband and son get really irritated that I can watch programs or movies more than once.  In fact, I've been known to watch things 5-8 times and still see something new on the screen.  What am I watching over and over and over again?  Top Chef on Bravo, Chopped on the Food Network and Leverage which killed me when it was cancelled.  I have the DVD and have seen Wedding Crashers, Talladega Nights and Eagle Eye more times that I better admit.   My son tells me I'm psycho, but I can live with that.

Guilty Pleasure #4 that everyone absolutely hates about me, and I don't care.  I ask questions all of the time!  The lady on the news who allegedly pushed her husband off the cliff?  I was asking everyone what made them think she did it?  Why do they believe he was blindfolded, and what happened to the marriage that she would want to kill the poor guy, allegedly?  If someone is getting married that I don't know, I ask how they met, how did he propose, what she did when he proposed - the whole kit and caboodle. I question why someone broke up, and on and on. Yes, it's nuts, but I can't help myself.  Perhaps this is my way of living out a fantasy of being a super spy, or an undercover therapist.  No one is safe! (lol)

Guilty Pleasure #5
Okay, so maybe I would be considered much more "normal" if I ate lots of chocolate and candy,  but dang it, I prefer cheeseburgers, cheeseburgers and more cheeseburgers, with occasional chocolate goodies mixed in.  They're even better if I'm watching Wedding Crashers again, reading one of my favorite novels again, or questioning someone on the phone in between bites.

  1. I used to date a professional female wrestler. I was always afraid that she'd get me in some weird wrestling hold. :D I don't read romance novels, but I do like Ann Rice's vampire books. I heard that she also writes romance novels under a different name. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've watched the same movie over and over. Why is it ok to listen to songs over and over, but not shows? As far as asking lots of questions, an inquisitive mind is a healthy mind!

I think I'm with you on hoping that she never pinned you in some crazy hold. (lol) I've read Ann Rice's vampire books and they are tantalizing. Glad to see that I'm not alone when it comes to watching things over and over again. Thanks for the kudos on the healthy mind.
