THANKFUL STUFF

Everyone knows that I pretty much binge on Christmas programs around this time of year, and here is a picture of Happy the Cat and Happy the Dog from The Hallmark Channel as they celebrate the holiday.

Twelve of this year's movies were actually filmed in Vancouver, and there are a total of 37 new movies premiering.

Do you like Christmas trees?  Can you imagine decorating 4640 of them since the movies started in 2009?

You can pretty much guarantee that someone will take advantage mistletoe on a Hallmark movie.  If you've been watching over the years, you probably counted all 1392 of them.(lol) Country Living

I wish all my blog buds a very Happy Thanksgiving.  I'm truly thankful that you've supported me and this blog throughout the year with tidbits, laughter, valuable input and kindness.  Your visits mean so much.

Every disheveled person isn't necessarily walking the streets seeking handouts.  Officially, the definition of homelessness is someone who is living in an unstable environment, such as a shelter, abandoned building, a vehicle, a friend or even a relative's couch.  Then there are those that we see under bridges, living in the woods or on benches.  Either way, they have no place to call their own.

Many may need socks and warm coats or food to get through the night, but others appreciate hugs of encouragement, or a smile letting them know things will get better.

We're also sending shouts out to our veterans who are away from home and family, protecting us and our country.  Be safe.

  1. Ah! Yes! The Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
Such films are currently called Hallmark Channel Original Movies
and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries....Slight change there..! :).

Yes! Love Christmas trees, though not had one at home since my
daughter left for university some 25yrs ago..Goodness!
Always display the crib though..it erected in the alcove under
the glass cabinet, with moss, water, and other things to make
it look real..looks good when finished..takes me back to my Catholic
roots, and my home in Sicily...! Home is where the heart is..! :).

Lovely seeing Snoopy..being as helpful as always..Bless him..! :).
    He's a real hero..! ´*•.¸(*•.¸♥¸.•*´)¸.•*´

AND...YES! Happy Thanksgiving to one all all...God Bless!x

    1. I'm hooked on both channels during the holidays, and of course during the off season, being able to spend time with my buddy Columbo. I don't do Christmas trees either these days, but there was a time that I'd have the generic green inside, and a colorful one outside. Kudos on the crib Willie, and a great idea. I still remember lots of those Catholic traditions too. Hope your Thanksgiving was amazing, and I'm sending some hugs our way! RO

  2. Same here! I binge on Christmas movies! Especially both Hallmark Channels and now, Lifetime too. :-)))))

They are delicious "eye candy". Always have a happy ending. Gorgeous decorations and decor. Perfect snowy Christmas settings.

    What's not to like......??????? :-)

  4. Taking some "me" time to catch up with you. Every year in late October, Hallmark and HMM begin their Christmas parade of movies. Now even Lifetime and ION are chiming in with Christmas movies, too. I somehow can't get into these. I wish I could, but when it comes to sappy and goo, I just can't wrap my head around them. I DO like Happy the Dog and Cat, though. Could watch them do nothing for hours on end.

Snoopy is looking good, and you have given us food for Thanksgiving thought about both the homeless and our vets today. Happy Thanksgiving, dear.

Just found your package this morning. E-mail to follow.

    1. Yay! I always love hanging out Elizabeth. True, there can be a little bit of sappiness going on there, and admit to blubbering quite a bit these days(lol), but every year I go back for more on Hallmark, Lifetime, Netflix, Amazon and Ion. (What in the heck is wrong with me?(lol) If you want to watch one that's fun with minimal sap,(lol) check out The Christmas Chronicles with Kurt Russell on Netflix. Happy the Dog and happy the Cat had some friends on Thanksgiving called bunnies! Despite my love of decorations, trees and movies, this year I'll be nixing any decorations here, including no tree. I have over 1400 to check out on television(lol) My heart always goes out to those in need every day, but even more on the holidays. Hope your day was the best ever, and I'm thrilled that you're feeling better these days! Hugs and Happy T Day! RO

I still watch them - just not every single one anymore lol

And of course there's Netflix and other places that are getting in on the romcom trend which makes for some variety.

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving Ro!

Since I worked this week (was able to get Thanksgiving off but that was it), I plan to get my tree up and start winterfying this desert house. 20. Such a beautiful and Christmasy feeling post...I love it!!!
Homelessness is a horrible part for our society.
I speak from personal experience. I was homeless with two children at one point in my life. Yes...I did sleep in my car. I would find friends homes for my children to sleep in and I would sleep in my car in front of their house.
Thankfully I found a job, a darling little apartment and my children and I had a beautiful Christmas Miracle. I will tell my story someday soon on my blog of a true Christmas Miracle Story.

  23. I'm glad you brought that up about homelessness. I work for a non-profit that helps incapacitated people. Many of them come to us homeless. Some of them are veterans who receive military benefits. Some get other benefits from the government and of course others do not. The majority of them need help, compassion, and love...along with counseling, medical attention and sometimes placement - if they want it because some people are more comfortable outdoors. Yikes, that turned into a novella ;)

  33. I hope your Thanksgiving was lovely! And that you've been enjoying all the Christmas movies. I have a few favorites I watch every year, some of them not that well-known, like The Tailor of Gloucester (sadly not available on DVD, and my videotape is deteriorating), and A Child's Christmas in Wales, and some more familiar, like A Christmas Carol (the George C. Scott and Patrick Stewart versions), the original animated How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and The Polar Express.
