CHOCOLATE PEANUT TREATS & KUDOS!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine cracker crumbs and butter. Stir in sugar and peanut butter. Press into a greased 8-in.-square pan.
  2. In a microwave or double boiler, melt the chocolate chips and stir until smooth. Spread over peanut butter layer. Chill 30 minutes; cut into squares. Chill until firm, about 30 minutes longer. Store in the refrigerator. Makes: about 2 dozen.

I found this recipe in the Taste of Home - 5 Ingredient Cookbook, but it's actually been around since 1998 as one of those treats that are quick to make and yummy to eat.

There are only 2 steps to this entire recipe!  Yay!!!  This is so simple that it's a super way to get kids in the kitchen.

Friendly reminder to partake of a gourmet breakfast!
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to stay at the B & B Garden Inn in Apex, NC and if I told you I was pampered, it would be an understatement.  Fishing, eating dinner in front of the lake with NO bugs, enjoying a good book in an elegant room AND a phenomenal home-cooked breakfast with Linda Daniels and her husband, was the height of my Veterans' Day.  Their kindness and words of wisdom certainly couldn't be matched anywhere else.  If you're ever in the NC area and need a place to stay that is homey and peaceful, stop by to visit. http://www.bnbcountrygardeninn.com/

Great view of outside or to watch television.

See my name in red on the wall!?!

Cool picture on the wall in the room.

The other day, I visited a blog of a really neat lady from http://postcardsfromtherain.blogspot.com/ , and she reminded me that we need to have some semblance of order in all we do.  Sadly, I'm not nearly as organized as I should be! (lol) Lissa also mentioned that it seems more people are using Instagram and other forms of Social Media instead of blogging.  I'm not on Instagram, but I've heard that you put in pictures and that's pretty much it. Is there any interaction going on?  What are your thoughts regarding blogging in the future?  Great topic, Lissa!

Meanwhile, I have 6 e-mail accounts and one has over 106, 000 e-mails that I need to purge. It's so bad, that even Google is sending me reminders. (lol)

  3. Yum on the recipe! The peanut butter and chocolate combination is one of my favorites. The bed and breakfast sounds lovely and relaxing! What a fun treat! I have heard that about instagram and social media but I prefer blogs! I know that probably makes me old fashioned but I'm terrible at checking instagram and everything!

  4. Nowadays, I barely have any drive to do much of anything, to be honest. Blogging and social media interactions have taken a considerable hit. Sigh.

  5. I was just thinking about a chocolate peanut butter dessert to put in my Christmas cookie batch. This one is so much simpler and less expensive to make. Thanks, Ro!

I'm not on Instagram either. I thought I was big stuff when I got a Pinterest account to go with the usual Facebook and Twitter. ;) I hope blogging doesn't go the way of the dinosaurs. I feel like I'm visiting folks at their homes each time I stop by one. I guess other social media can do that, but not as well IMHO.

Lovely B&B! I've never stayed at one. Someday....

My closet, as a matter of fact my whole ROOM is in such a disarray that I turn my nose up to it EVERY time I walk into it and I have to LIVE IN IT! So, what I'm saying is try not to let it bother you to much because it happens to the best of us. ;) Those chocolate peanut butter treats though! Are you going to try to make them? mmm they sound delicious and it's def a plus that they are so easy to make. xoxo

  7. That sounds like a fun vacation! I love Bed & Breakfasts and charming little inns. I think blogging is EXTREMELY popular with businesses...in fact most marketing experts will say it's a must. But if you find a blogging community and become a part of it, it can have the same bonding effect as social media.

  10. I wouldn't bother reading those unread emails, if they are important, I'm sure they'll contact you again or in some other way... I have 3 email accounts but only uses two of them, it used to be more but then I thought, what is the point of having more email account if you're not even using them?

anyway, I hope you have a lovely weekend.
