WHAT'S UP WITH YOU TODAY?

People don't talk about these beds a lot, but they're gorgeous and quite unique.  They range in price from $1500 - $7000, and actually look like they're floating.  But take a look at all these pics, and tell me if you notice what I did.

If you said "How in the heck do I get in this dang bed?", great minds think alike. (lol)  There's not a ladder or step stool to be found anywhere, so we just need to dive right in!

VENDING MACHINES
This may be hard to imagine, but if you visit Stoneridge or Accord NY, you'll be able to purchase meat from a vending machine!  But if this is too over the top for you, www.applestonemeat.com also sells it's fantastic organic meat online.  If you want to visit in person, head over to the Stoneridge location.

TEDDY
President Theodore Roosevelt was the inspiration for the very first teddy bear that was sold in February 1903, and designed by Morris Michtom.

Dolly Parton News
At 72, Dolly Parton shows no signs of ever slowing down, so when I heard that she's been using Imagination, her nonprofit literacy organization  for the past 20 years to donate books to kids and families in need. Can you believe that on February 27, she donated her 100 millionth book?!

Yes, I've talked about this before. In a recent 2016 literacy study by the Literacy site, Finland was #1 when it came to literacy in its country, and the United States was #7.  According to the World Atlas in 2017 Andorra was #1 and Finland was #2, but their literacy rates are both 100%.  Cuba is 99.8% and Russia is 99.7%.  Sadly, the United States is not even in the top 25.

My  mom started reading to me at an early age, so picking up a book was second nature to me.  To be honest, I probably take going to a library or bookstore for granted. But there are children who don't have access to books around the world, and many are not even taught to read.

Major kudos to the very wonderful and super talented Dolly Parton for making a difference.

  2. Oh Lordy I can just see me trying to get onto one of those beds ha ha...pretty cool looking though.

I am really impressed with everything that Dolly does, donating that many books is a blessing to a lot of people because low income families simply can't afford luxuries like books for their children, I love it that people like Dolly step in and help our kids here.

    1. Dolly Parton is such a phenomenal woman, and here kind acts are not always well known. The quotes she uses when she speaks are great to hear too. I'm a little on the fence about those beds, but they look fun! Hugs...RO

  4. Wow, those cantilevered beds are kind of weird looking to me. I think I'd have a hard time, convincing myself, that it wouldn't fall!!!!!!! LOL. I know they 'do' cantilevered things. But they always make me feel queezy.

Yes, very wonderful of Dolly Parton, to get books into so many hands.

  5. The bed is terrible. You can't shove things under it unseen and you have to clean under it.

    1. I just don't get it either Super Sandra. Everyone should be afforded the opportunity to read, and to have books available, and it saddens me that it isn't the case. Yes to Dolly Parton! She's so amazing! Hugs...RO

  7. I love Dolly Parton. She's always doing great things and is so wonderfully okay with who she is. The beds look amazing but I like plusher looking beds and the floating thing weirds me out - almost as much as buying meat out of a vending machine!

    1. She is not only brilliant but so kind and thoughtful. She's always thinking others and sharing her gifts. She is one of the people I would love to have dinner with if I could. Lots of people are super iffy about the vending machine Katherine(lol), and I'm on the fence about that bed, but it does look sort of fun.*heh* Hugs...RO

  8. Yeah for Dolly Parton. I had no idea she donated so many books. That is awesome.

I love reading and hope that adults help the kids in their life to enjoy stores. I always loved having my mom read to me. :)

  9. Hello Floating Bed, this looks like a lot of fun. I don’t know about vending machine meat but I’m down to try everything once. I had no idea The teddy bear was named after Presiden Theodore Roosevelt. I’ve always like Dolly Parton, I can’t believe she’s 72

  10. They can keep their cantilevered beds. I will keep mine, thank you.

I LOVE Dolly Parton and the work she has done over the years with her foundation. I had no idea she donated books, though. She is to be commended. Do you remember the old ads about RIF (reading is fundamental)? I DO.

Yes, I knew about the Teddy Bear and I enjoyed reading about it again.

I paid homage to you today and shared some of the stickers you sent me. I've used them on my February calendar page. I'm sure there will be more next month, too, dear.

    1. LOL! The bed looks neat, but I just need to figure out how to negotiate it. I do remember RIF, and yes Dolly Parton is pretty amazing! Reading is definitely still fundamental too. Thanks again for the kudos. You are always so cool! Happy Friday!

  13. If Frank Lloyd Wright can cantilever balconies in architecture...why not beds by someone else :) Not for me. I like my beds with four legs!
I knew about the Teddy Bears. I love reading about the Roosevelt family.
Dolly Parton is doing a wonderful thing about books... I did not know about her trying to make sure that children have books to read. We seem to only hear bad news from the media.

    Hugs❤

  14. I'm way too short for that type of bed. I would need a spring board so I could get some height to jump into bed each night. So then it's another chore. I think I'll keep my bed where it is :-)

  15. Those beds are amazing but I don't think I'd want to own one. I love my Sleep Number bed too much. It's like a hug all night long, every night and does wonders for my back. What a fantastic cause for Dolly Parton. She's such a gift.

  17. I missed the height issue b/c I'm tall. My mind went to 'dang, now I can't ignore the dust bunnies under the bed' and 'would it hold me?' LOL

Good to know Dolly has a literary foundation and has been active as an advocate and donator for years.

  18. Dolly Parton is wonderful, and it's crazy how many people in the U.S that are illiterate or who can barely read. People like to think the U.S. is #1 in absolutely everything, but that's not true...at all. And I wish it would change - but people are doing good things to make that change.

Omg, I love those beds!! I'd need a step stool or something though. LOL

  24. My wife was so smooth at hiding her infidelity and I had no proof for months, I saw a recommendation about a Private investigator  and decided to give him a try.. the result was incredible because all my cheating wife’s text messages, whatsapp, facebook and even phone conversations was linked directly to my cellphone. (worldcyberhackers@gmail.com ) Mr James helped me put a round-the-clock monitoring on her and I got concrete evidence and gave it to my lawyer..if your wife is an expert at hiding her cheating adventures contact Mr James

  25. My name is DOROTHY LISA, I want to share a great testimony on this website on how great a man called Prophet Abulele helped me in getting pregnant, me and my husband have been trying to have a baby for over 12 years, but they were no luck so we decided to contact the family doctor and after all the test have been done, he said to us that my Fallopian tube is not functioning. then one day I was in the office when a friend of mine who had the same problem with me, got her baby after she contacted Prophet Abulele. she directed me to him and when I contacted him through his email: prophetabulelehealingtemple@gmail.com and he prayed for me and sent me an herbal medicine, which I took for few days and in 3 weeks’ time, as he told me, i was feeling somehow and I went to meet the family doctor who told me that I am pregnant. if you know that you have a similar problem like this, or any fertility issue and you want to be pregnant you can contact Prophet Abulele: prophetabulelehealingtemple@gmail.com OR WhatsApp him on +2349022406159
