If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you already know that I like to share information that's unusual, or makes me scratch my head in wonder. (lol)
It's not official yet, but if you live or plan to live in Rhode Island and love your porn, it may soon cost you. A bill has been introduced requiring all Internet providers to block sexual content, and anything considered offensive. The best and only way around it if this bill gets passed? Pay up $20 and you'll be magically unblocked. Those funds would then be used for funding the Council on Human Trafficking. The bill also proposes a penalty for those who refuse to block their content.
GREEN GODDESS TUNA SALAD SANDWICH (Bon Appetit)

Build sandwiches with English muffins, tuna salad (you may have a bit extra), and herb salad.
TOP CHEF SECRETS
Everyone knows that I've been watching Top Chef since 2006, and it's one of the only cooking shows I'll watch over and over and over again, which my son can never understand(lol) The show is so popular around the world now that you can watch Top Chef Canada, Top Chef Africa, Top Chef France, Top Chef Mexico, Top Chef Panama, Top Chef Italy, Top Chef Spain & Top Chef Thailand.
It's 2018, and Chef and Judge Tom Colicchio still feels that Season 9 winner, (Texas) Paul Qui has phenomenal food and is the best chef. He cooked his favorite dish of root vegetables and sunchoke dashi soup.
If you watch the show, it seems like they make their decisions of who will be kicked off very quickly with little discussion, but in reality, it can sometimes take as long as 6 hours or more to make a decision, and they can't leave until they all agree!
The next season will be held in various cities throughout Kentucky.
Just in case you didn't know, March 9 is National Meatball Day. So that means there should be balls made from pork, beef, veggies, chickpeas, chicken and turkey all over the place tomorrow. Rachel Ray even has a recipe that includes bacon! Make them yourself, or head out to a restaurant with a friend.
Wow, that's some offer, for someone young, without duties, and loves travel.
ReplyDeleteThat recipe would make anyone want tuna salad! But it's kind of difficult, with lots of ingredients. Maybe just a few, added to regular tuna salad...? :-)
Never watched any of the chef shows. Not the competition ones. A couple of individual ones, when they were on. The "Bammmmm!" guy. And the Italian lady... Lydia...
National Meatball Day!!!! Yessss!!!!! Who doesn't love meatballs? You can make any kind you want. ,-))))
Ohhhhhhh that adorable pic!!!! "A house is not a home, without books or cats." It makes me so miss our kitties. -sniff-
I really wish I could have jumped on something like this back in the day because it really sounds fun. Love trying new things with tuna, and I agree, I don't want to work too hard to eat. (lol) I adore Emeril Lagasse, he been around so many years. And I watch Lidia Bastianich on occasion too. I'm so sorry about your cats too. Love, love, cats. Hugs...and Happy Monday RO
DeleteThe Green Goddess Tuna sounds pretty darn good and who doesn't love meatballs!!!
ReplyDeleteI have the house full of books but hubby doesn't care for cats. I adore them...but marriage is all about give and take 🐈📚
Hugs ❤💮❤
I enjoyed that tuna sandwich and made Meatball subs on Friday Jan. I agree about marriage and compromise. Not many of my friends like cats either.(lol) Hugs...and Happy Monday! RO
DeleteI gather you are not applying for the Busabout position, or you wouldn't be telling us about it. Porn censorship was tried here before the internet when people used phone services, but it failed.
ReplyDeleteLOL! That would be very true Andrew, I'm passing on the job. That's interesting that it didn't work where you are, and would love to know more of what caused it to fail. Happy Friday and Hugs...RO
DeleteAlas, no travelling for me, but it sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteIt really does sound like an adventure for sure, right? Hugs...RO
DeleteI am pretty much a home body these days. Vicarious travel only. I like the suggested use for the 'unblock' money. And smile that purchasers of porn pay it.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you EC, and why others can jump on board, but a part of me still wishes I could get out there and experience the adventures. That porn thing, I totally agree.(lol) Hugs...and hope you're feeling well today! RO
DeleteAnother great post with all kinds of good info.
ReplyDeleteBusabout would be perfect for someone who loves to travel. And good for you for including the question about someone reliable to take care of the furbabies.
Hugs
This job would have been so perfect for me years, but they would definitely send me home after the first few days for either falling asleep or not being able to get through a hike. (lol)
DeleteGosh, RO, I love to travel, but I couldn't leave my boys behind that long. If only I knew about this before I had two fur babies, I would have jumped at the chance.
ReplyDeleteI am NOT a lover of porn, nor do I watch it, but to me that bill speaks of censorship, which I am opposed to even more than porn. I can see their desire to raise money for human trafficking, but somehow that struck me as the wrong way to do it.
I adored the cat and books photo. What more can a human ask for, right? Really enjoyed this post, even though I was SO late visiting.
Interesting fact: Wichita has had LESS THAN 1/2 inch of moisture since October 1, 2017 until March 8, 2018 (yesterday). Saw it on the news last night.
If something was available like this back in the day, I absolutely would have dropped everything and signed on. Something like this is what dreams are made of for sure. I could see how leaving your babies that long wouldn't work, and I don't blame you. I agree, I don't get porn either, but adults shouldn't be censored. What this is good for, is a surf savvy kid who knows how to navigate to porn at only 5 years old, and sadly I've actually seen that happen. My nephew actually pulled up a site when he stole his mother's phone a few years back, and I was horrified(lol) The human trafficking problem is atrocious, and I wish there was a way to stop such heinous behavior. Cats, books, movies and cheeseburgers make me happy too Elizabeth.(lol) Yay, you've shared some trivia which I love, and that's shocking. Never know when that will come in handy! Hugs and Happy Saturday to you! RO
DeleteMan, that travel job looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteNow, that does look delicious for a different tuna salad recipe.
Love my meatballs so glad to celebrate that one. I just had a meatball sub for dinner last night and had no idea it had its own day. :)
Happy Friday, Ro!
I have no earthly clue why I love the Crazy Calendar Sophia(lol), but they have lots of fun days on there. Glad you enjoyed your sub. I wish I could take advantage of that travel job. It really sounds so amazing. Hope your Saturday is fantastic! Hugs...RO
DeleteMy younger self would have done this travel piece in a heart beat!! When I worked in the airline industry we'd just fly to New England for seafood for lunch and then fly to Texas for tex-mex. I miss those days!!
ReplyDeleteThis tuna salad looks fabulous. Wanna come cook for me? I am getting bored with doing it. In fact I hate it. I watch all these cooking shows you'd think I would enjoy cooking. Nope, I just enjoy eating.
Ditto for me Peggy. Working in the airline industry sounds so glamorous, and I bet you have all kinds of neat stories to tell! I would have loved to different cities like that to experience the food. LOL! For years, I was the same way. I watched all these cooking shows and did nothing with it. It wasn't until 2010, that I actually started to go cheffy. I sure wouldn't mind heading that way for an adventure or two. Hope your Saturday is wonderful. Hugs...RO
DeleteOh RI lol I'm originally from there but have lived in FL for almost 20 years.
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
I've visited Florida 3 times, and loved it, EXCEPT for those giant bugs.(lol) Hugs...and Happy Saturday! RO
DeleteI've never liked to travel so that does not sound like fun to me at all. lol
ReplyDeleteThere was a time when I travelled quite a bit, but a trip like this I couldn't do these days. I sure hope someone can take advantage of it and get the job though. Hugs...RO
DeleteBlessings.......
ReplyDeletelots of info
i shall pass this on to my daughter & see if she likes.
take care.
stay blessed
Oh, that sounds so cool! She and a friend can both apply, so she'll have someone she knows with her too. Hope it works out and thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs...RO
DeleteOoh National Meatball Day! I love that.
ReplyDeleteAnd that first point is an interesting travel opportunity. I think I'd be too freaked out to travel alone, or at least not personally know anyone with me. haha
-Lauren
www.shootingstarsmag.net
I really enjoy a good meatball too Lauren, and I did take advantage of the day. The good thing about this travel job, is you can apply with 1 or 2 friends. So that way you'd have someone to hang out with. I can understand not wanting to do it alone too. I sure wish I was younger and could take advantage of it though. Hugs...RO
Delete"anything considered offensive" um...that's the entire internet. lol
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a slippery slope. I remember going to the library once, and I couldn't visit 2 book blogs because they were "offensive" or had "offensive content" It really shocked me because these blogs were romance review blogs. Hugs...RO
DeleteRo, that tuna cob had me wishing I hadn’t become a veggie. But I am and proud of it. Great post and full of interesting information as usual!
ReplyDeleteIt does sound yummy Terry for sure. I'm meeting more and more vegetarians since I've been blogging, and it's actually helped me eat a little more healthy. Happy Saturday and Hugs...RO
DeleteWow, awesome information. I like to travel and will be going to Turkey, Greece, Malta, Spain and Portugal in May this year. Last year we did London, Paris, Switzerland, Italy, Rome, Astria, Germany, Amsterdam and Brushels. I tool all these photos of my daughter. http://nastravelworld.com/shariyas-travels/
ReplyDeleteWow! That sounds so amazing to be able to visit those countries. I'm going to check out the photos because I love seeing other places. Thanks a bunch! Hugs...RO
DeleteOMG - I just looked at your pictures, and your daughter is stunning, and I wish I had her figure so I could eat at all those amazing places. Belgian Waffles, and lots of cheese She also happened to visit Switzerland which is on my bucket list. These pictures are truly amazing, and I thank you for allowing me to share in the adventures! Hugs...RO
DeleteWhile I could care less about porn, I am opposed to censorship, and who determines what is offensive? Eep!
ReplyDeleteThe cute kitty in that photo sure does look comfortable! Enjoy your weekend, RO!
ReplyDeleteBusabout is not for me. I definitely am not the right person. I hate traveling.
ReplyDeleteMe me - I love to travel! Probably couldn't get away for 2-3 months though. That would be a dream! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of tuna sandwiches, but that one looks straight up legit! - www.domesticgeekgirl.com
ReplyDeleteEvery Friday, I try to eat a tuna sandwich, but many years ago, I went on a tuna diet for 2 weeks. Not sure if I could do that again though.(lol) I like that this offers up a different version. Happy Friday Gingi! Hugs...RO
DeleteI love your blog RO! You give us so much information!
ReplyDeleteTraveling for 2-3 months! Sounds great!
Thanks for the Green Goddess sandwich! Looks so good!
The porn bill sounds good!
I love meat balls!
Cats are the best!!!
Big Hugs!
If I were still young and strong I would apply to join that first offer and travel. But I'm not, so I won't. Thanks for all the amusing and informative trivia. Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteAww well apparently I missed meatball day, although I've been giving up meat (without going FULL vegetarian, because THAT'S not happening lol) so it may not have happened anyway. Darned if I don't love good meatballs though! And that travel job sounds awesome, doesn't it??
ReplyDeleteWell I'm not into cooking or porn but I like to travel but I couldn't bare having to film my every move on instagram and Facebook, I'd just want to sit by the pool drinking beer and listening to music. Somehow I don't think that's what Busabout are looking for. :D My older daughter sounds like a better candidate!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your posts RO. Yes my passport is in order but no that job is not for me. I like Trivago for hotel deals and use it often when visiting my daughter whose finishing up her doctorate. And yes I did know it was national meatball day thanks to an email from Olive Garden LOL
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or does that rocky inlet look like a dinosaur?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, Rockin Ro.
Hugs
LOL! Now that you mention it Super Sandra, I can kind of see it, and it's pretty cool! Hope your weekend is amazing! Hugs...RO
DeleteI had no idea that March 9th was National Meatball Day, although maybe I did on a subconscious level because we had meatball subs for dinner that night, lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
I like to entertain myself by finding all these crazy days on the calendar Suzanne(lol) Good for you that you enjoyed a meatball sandwich that night. Hope your Saturday is fun! Hugs...RO
DeleteThat's cool about the travel job and I think single me would love it but unless they'll pay for multiple tickets I think I'm out! I love Top Chef and really enjoyed this season. With only one or two exceptions everyone seemed so nice and supportive of each other. I really hated to see it end! Can't wait for Kentucky though. I'd love to see some of the ones from around the world. The variety of food would be really interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe whole get paid to travel thing sounds fun at first but I feel like I would be exhausted at the first stop. I couldn't imagine having to rush around to various places, blog about, and still have the energy to keep going. LoL
ReplyDeleteI hope you see this RO, because I just found something on one of the blogs I read. The mural my friend Sami found is about domestic violence. Sami lives in Australia and I "told" her I was going to let you know about this:
ReplyDeletehttps://sami-colourfulworld.blogspot.com/2018/03/monday-mural-face-of-violence.html
Thanks a bunch Elizabeth, you're the best! Heading over that way to check right now. Hugs...RO
DeleteWow! That looks amazing, and a powerful message from the survivor. Thanks again for letting me know about this! Hugs...
DeleteThanks for visiting my blog RO and thanks to Elizabeth for pointing the mural out to you. You do great work in supporting victims of abuse.
DeleteThe only time I travel is to the Vet, but I could go for the tuna salad sandwich!!!!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't that sandwich sound so yummy Brian? I can imagine that traveling to the Vet so often can be quite an adventure on its own! Hugs...and thanks for stopping by to say hello! RO
DeleteI love to travel, and I’m getting my life in order where i can take extended trips 4-6 weeks is my goal. OMG Busabout sounds great for me. I’m going to apply today. I’ve used hotels tonight and there are always great deals. Wow $20 to unblock porn? Sounds like the old days where you always had to pay for it. I’m not sure how I feel about that, but it is an interesting fact. Have a great week Ro :)
ReplyDeleteThe Travel Tonight is very fortuitous as unexpected travel is in my future:)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Yay! More pics are coming! Hugs...and Happy Tuesday RO
DeleteHow fun would that Busabout opportunity be?!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it definitely sounds so fun. I sure do wish something like this would have been available when I was a kid. I would have jumped on this opportunity for sure! Hugs...RO
DeleteHi Ro, i’m not familiar with the ‘top chef’ programme. That Tuna’Salad’ Salad Sandwich looks very tempting but i’ll pass on that one.
ReplyDeleteThey tried to pass the exact same bill in SC not long ago. It's really ludicrous and just a way for the States to extort money out of people.
ReplyDeleteI like that it may stop a very young kid from trying to access porn, because I actually had to take a phone away from a nephew that managed to find it on his mom's phone,(lol), and he was only 5, but it does speak to censorship for adults.
DeleteOn blocking porn: :) I love that it's going to help fight Human Trafficking
ReplyDeleteHugs
Yummy sandwich!
ReplyDeleteI would also add a house is not a home without dogs and home cookin'! :) How are you RO? Hope all is well, my spring cleaning is DONE...woopie!
ReplyDeleteI don't like to travel. I used to when I was younger, but I just love being home now!
Another great mix for us, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI love Tuna Salad, and there are some great meatball recipes around!
All the best Jan
I absolutely adore tuna salad, and thought this one was pretty cool. Meatballs are very close to hamburgers Jan.(lol) Hugs...RO
DeleteI've got a post about the Rhode Island tax coming up. I'm so glad you're talking about it. Hmm, my passport has been expired for a very long time. Sad but true.
ReplyDeleteElsie
Hey Elsie, I'm looking forward to that post for sure. I just had to reapply because of my bucket list item of visiting Switzerland.(lol) Hugs..and Happy Friday!
DeleteI am not a big traveler, but it can be fun once in a while to go somewhere. I used to follow a travel blogger and always was amazed people did that for a living, but I wouldn't want to do it myself.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched Top Chef, but that's interesting to hear the decision process can take that long.
