TASTY TREATS AND SOME TRIVIA

Raise your hand if you know what "Whisker Biscuit" or "Mush Mitten" means".  If not, you're not alone.   I heard it on Claws, a dramedy about the over the top antics of women in a nail salon and their men on TNT every Sunday night. Something outrageous always happens on the show but I've been giggling since Sunday because those words are newfound names for a vagina.(lol)  Uh...some things you just can't unhear.

THERE'S ALWAYS ROOM FOR ICE CREAM
Seems like there is a Dairy Queen on every corner, but did you know that the first one opened up way back in 1940 in Illinois?
There are over 5700 stores around the world calling on us to enjoy  cold scoops of goodness.

SELL IT FOR CASH
If you're thinking about having a yard sale to get rid of some clutter, studies show that that simply providing bags for your customers is a great way to make it easy for them to carry stuff and to purchase more.

LET'S GET GRILLIN'
This is the weekend where everyone will be grilling or heading to the beach.  If you're thinking of grilling corn, here are some great new toppings to try to up the flavor.

1)  Butter + Honey + Tabasco or Hot Sauce
2)  Mayo + Old Bay + Lemon Juice  (Get the low salt version of Old Bay if you're watching your salt intake
3)  Olive Oil + Oregano + Parmesan Cheese

SOUTHERN LOVE
Are you a fan of shrimp and grits and looking for a fun vacation in September?  Head to Jekyll Island, Georgia from September 14 - September 16.  It's FREE for the public, but if you want the VIP treatment, cost per day ranges from $80.25 to $160.00.  This includes all kinds of cool stuff like unlimited wine/beer and nonalcoholic drinks.  For more information visit https://www.jekyllisland.com

LOOKING FOR A HOME?
You may not have heard of 50 Poplar Hill Drive in Connecticut, but it's pretty famous.  At one time it was owned by Mike Tyson.  He actually forgot that he even still had this property that was robbed in 2017, but this mansion is owned by 50 Cent, the rapper.  At one time, this 50,000 square foot property was being sold for a little over $18 million, but Fredrik Eklund from Bravo's Million Dollar Listing slashed the price to just close to $5 Million. (About $22,000 a month mortgage payment!)

So if you're looking for a home with 6 kitchens, 25 bathrooms, a pool and a stripper pole, get this bargain quick!(lol)

WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO REALLY WELL?
One thing I wish I could really do well is draw or paint.  I literally can only draw boxes and stick people.  My artistic talent is to use stickers and washi tape for everything in my planners.

My Birthday is Coming on August 12- Yay!

In high school, I took an elective art class and thought it would be smooth sailing - uh...definitely not. (lol) We had to draw things like hands, bottles and fruit baskets.  Everyone in that class created these great pieces of art with pencils and shading, including Eva someone I'm still friends with today.

The teacher would walk past my desk, shake her head and tell me to just keep trying. (lol)

  1. Well the answer to the last question is anything. I don't have a talent of any kind. I've been looking for 62 years. :-)

  2. I can do some art. But I seem to only be able to copy. Look at a painting, and reproduce it. Like that.

I am better with pastels, than with oil though.

But I haven't even tried, in ages.

  5. This was a fun post. I like DQ, but I love Baskin and Robbins.I must say that the Blizzards look extra good right now-maybe because it's past lunch time.
I took art in high school too. I was lousy at it but loved it and even ended up in art club. That's one nice home! But I'd have to have a great security system or I'd be selling it too!

    1. Hey there Lorna! Give me ice cream from anywhere, and I'm all in. (lol) Aren't Blizzards great though? That's cool that you ended up in an art club. I surely would have been kicked out.(lol) I agree, a place like that needs serious security though out the whole house. It was interesting how tired everyone got as they toured. I mean, I feel like other people could have been living in there, and no one would have ever seen them.(lol) So thrilled that you stopped by! Hugs...RO

  7. Hi RO :) I could use some DQ right about now...I do have ice cream in the freezer though, so maybe a big ol' Sundae tonight after dinner would hit the spot!! Oh the art stuff...you know I took art classes in high school and I sucked with a capital S. About 10 years ago I tried to take painting and drawing classes and hated every moment. I got into painting by following Bob Ross on PBS. The drawing too, I copied and traced and erased and started over again until I gained the confidence to draw and paint my own stuff.

But if you can't draw or paint, you know you have other amazing talents RO :) Your bullet journals look great!!!

  12. I haven't gotten into Claws, but I hear it is great. I saw the previews when it first came out, but never watched it.

I don't care if the price on that house is right, I'll let someone else buy a SIX kitchen home. I would feel obligated to cook more.

I can't draw for anything. It's not my thing, and I don't even proclaim to want to learn, either. I WOULD, however, like to get better at making collages. My calendar doesn't even look as good as yours, even though I use some of the stickers each month that you gifted me.

BTW, I’ve been complaining about my gimpy keyboard for awhile, but my mouse has always worked great. That is, until today. I had to buy a new mouse just so I could maneuver between blogs. That’s why I’m really late visiting.

Your collages are absolutely beautiful and creative. I should be so lucky! I try to strategically place my stickers, but it's not mauch art to it. (lol) You must feel so frustrated with the keyboard and mouse situation. I agree, for writers and bloggers, that just has to be a nightmare. I'm always so thrilled when you stop by to visit! Your diary looks great with washi tape and stickers, no need for drawings.
I used to draw and paint reasonably well, but it's been years since I dedicated myself to art so I'm very rusty.

  27. I had a feeling I knew where you were going with the words! Those are hilarious! I don't understand why you'd need a house with 6 kitchens for a private residence. I would love to have someone explain what the function of that really was. I ended up taking an art class my senior year in high school and it was not a success.
