I'm a hugger, but these days, people are not as touchy feely. But I'm not a kisser, so even though Friday, July 6 is International Kissing Day, I won't be snuggling up to any strangers.(lol)
Today is also National Fried Chicken Day, which I think I will take advantage of. Though quite rare, if you have an actual fear of chickens, it's called Alektorophobia.
TIPS FOR TRAVEL
Airlines occasionally make errors when posting fares that can save you hundreds of dollars. Sign up for alerts from www.secretflying.com or www.theflightdeal to find more information.
Rental Car Deals - yes, you can get your rental car at a discounted rate if you check out autoslash.com. They do all the work for you!
THAT'S A LOT OF SMELLING
Did you know that us humans have 5 million scent detecting cells, which sure sounds like a lot - but dogs actually have 200 million?!
WORDS YOU'VE HEARD
You may have heard the old phrase, "cat and mouse games" which means loosely the act of being constantly chased and nearly escaping eventual capture, and dates way back to 1675. Some describe it as a game that keeps going on and on and never ends.
GET YOUR POTASSIUM ON
Whenever someone tells us to eat potassium, we automatically run out to buy a ton of bananas, which I like sometimes. But we can also get potassium in parsnip, spinach, sweet potatoes, avocados, coconut water and tomato sauce.
SWEET MUSIC
In Memphis TN, there's a Gibson factory where you can watch guitars actually being built, painted and tuned. A Gibson Guitar can easily range in prices of up to $5000!
HOW MANY BLOGS DO YOU VISIT A DAY?
Initially, I started reading a few romance review blogs years ago. Then I started my own blog and didn't know what the heck I was doing. Eventually I gathered the courage to visit more blogs every day and comment. When I'm feeling super perky, I can easily visit about 50-60 blogs a day, but I've known people who visit a lot more than that. On a bad day, I even pass on looking at my own blog(lol).
I really love interacting with other people and their blogs because I learn new things, and find lots of similarities. Even better, it's just fun. What about you? How many blogs are you visiting on a daily basis?
I have between 47 and 55 blogs that I visit each day but some don't post every day so the number fluctuates.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a bit Mary, and I've seen you at quite a few of those blogs too. (lol) Hugs and Happy Friday! RO

DeleteI have a lot of friends blogs on my left sidebar, but many don't post everyday. I visit between 18 and 30 depending on who has updated their blog. BTW, I always love your random type bits and pieces of information you share with us.
ReplyDeleteI'll hug you, too! No kissing, though. Hope your Independence Day was enjoyable.
I agree that having them on my sidebar does help. but there have been times I've forgotten. That's a pretty good number of visits for sure. I always love when you come over this way to wave hello! My mind is hopelessly random, which may explain the posts, dear Elizabeth.(lol) I'll take that hug and thank you very much! Hugs and Happy Friday! RO
DeleteSigh. You, of all people should know that I've been failing at visiting lately, Ro. *sobs* But if I were the old me, I think I visit whoever updated on a daily basis. IDK how many people, tbh.
ReplyDeletexoxo
LOL! I know you have tons going on Joyous Joy, but I'm always super thrilled when you pop over for a quick visit. Happy Friday and Hugs...RO
DeleteI visit a LOT of blogs. There are several hundred on my reader. Some of them don't post every day though.
ReplyDeleteI am a hugger too. Particularly a cyber hugs.
Take a big one for yourself.
I absolutely know that you are all over the blogosphere dear EC, and your comments are always so great to read wherever you show up. I just caught your cyber hug and sending one right back to you! Hugs and Happy Friday! RO
DeleteHi RO, this was a fun read. I learned a lot and will enjoy those useful links also. Thank you so much. I'm a hugger, grew up in a hugger family. I don't hug strangers, lol! As for visiting blogs, I do my best to visit every blog that visits me, and if I am having a more of a relaxing day I will visit more. Some days like yesterday I wasn't able to visit hardly any.
ReplyDeleteBack in the day, people were a little more receptive to hugs, but sometimes my affinity for hugging still will cause me to forget myself and hug a stranger. (lol) I agree, some days are just too crazy, and there's no time for being on line. I always love it when you come over to wave hello Denise and hope your Friday is amazing! Hugs...RO
DeleteThanks for the tip about the sweet potatoes! They're a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteThey do taste yummy, and I should eat lots more, Angela. Happy Saturday and Hugs...RO
DeleteIt does depend on the day and who posts on any given day but we sometimes visit up to 240 blogs. Hey, my Dad has a couple of Gibson guitars.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool about those Gibson guitars! My goodness, that sure is a ton of blogs!(lol) Hugs and Happy Saturday! RO
DeleteMmmmm fried chicken and sweet potatoes.
ReplyDeleteI visit about 20-30 blogs per day. Sometimes more and sometimes less depending how much I need to get done that day.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
On busy days, I don't even get to my own blog Karen, but I try to make it up on other days. Give me fried chicken with lots of spice! Hope your Saturday is going well! Hugs...RO
Deleteoh my, that is a lot of blogs girl! I don't visit as much as I should these days but I'm trying to rectify that :)
ReplyDeleteHey Girl! It's wonderful to see you, and it's been a little while. I know that life just gets in the way of lots of stuff we want to do. Sometimes I get a little swamped too, and am lucky to even look at my own blog. (lol) Hugs and Happy Saturday! RO
DeleteI don't visit as many blogs as you RO...but I try to visit a few new ones here-and-there :}
ReplyDeleteLove fried chicken but today we are having baked ham for supper.
Great photos! loved the kissing rocks!
I love hugs but kissing is just among family and close friends for me.
Big Hugs RO :}
That baked ham sounds pretty yummy too, dear Jan. I try to visit that many, but there are days that I get caught up in too many other things. Still, I love meeting new friends when I can, and connecting with the ones who've been around for a while like you.(lol) Happy Saturday and Hugs...RO
DeleteHow many blogs I visit a day....
ReplyDeleteDo you mean, how many do I just Visit??? Because my Stat Counter shows that a lot of people, just Visit my blog. Which makes me very peeved. just Visit but no comment.
So to me, I read and comment, on about 10 a day, because that is the number of New Posts, which show up, every day.
I try to not follow more blogs, than I can read and comment.
It's nice that people visit, but if they're like me, it took me a long time to gather the courage to actually say something.(lol) Now it's hard to shut me up sometimes.(lol) Your blog always has something interesting to say. Hugs and Happy Saturday! RO
DeleteAgree on that Wisps ......
DeleteI don't like it when people just read and go away. That gives you the feeling that your blog may not be up to the mark worth commenting on.
I try to always visit back those who stopped by and leave them some love. I also visit ones who come across my feed that pique my interest.
ReplyDeleteYou've been around for a long time Kimberly, and we always love when you stop by. Your blog is pretty amazing too! Hugs and Happy Saturday! RO
DeleteI used to visit a lot, but alas I had to cut down a bit. So no new blogs for me, I used to like finding ones
ReplyDeleteIt can get really busy for sure. If time permits, I try to add a few new ones every year. Hope your weekend is amazing! Hugs...RO
DeleteI think I read 30 - 40 blogs each day and leave comments. Fried chicken day sounds very good! Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI see you in quite a few places Valerie, and know you're pretty busy. Hope your weekend is amazing! Hugs...RO
DeleteIn my part of Australia one would rarely get their potassium sourced from Parsnips unless fairly wealthy. In NSW Aus Parsnips sell at around a medium price of Aus$12-00 per kilo. Whereas Carrots and bananas are approx Aus$1-50 per kilo. Mainly due to the weight ratio being lower in the parsnip compared to carrot, further to its expense is that the parsnip takes an additional six weeks than most Veg to mature. Ah well; time flys like an arrrow. but in Aus, Fruit flies like a banana.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's really interesting, and I did not know that. That's a huge difference in cost to eat healthy. I didn't know that it took that much longer to grow. Love your sense of humor.(lol) Hugs...RO
DeleteMr PO. Should he give his heart to every woman who had this power , he would wind up in serious strife and become penniless in the bargain.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on that!
DeleteWow. That's a lot of blog visits. I visit in waves. I always visit people who've stopped by my blog, but usually only pop over and check out all the other blogs I follow on the weekends.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the wave visiting works really well Kristin due to time constraints, so totally get it for sure. Happy Sunday and Hugs...RO
DeleteAlways look forward to your posts RO
ReplyDeleteI'm a hugger but like you I'm more politically correct and watch for signs before the bring the bear hug out :)
I visit about 30 blogs/day everyday and more on occasions
It's official Debbie. When we meet, let's go in for the bear hug!(lol) With your schedule, that's pretty amazing that you can get that many in. Hugs...and Happy Sunday! RO
DeleteHadn't heard of Kissing day or Fried chicken day. Being Portuguese we kiss everybody twice on the cheeks.
ReplyDeleteI visit probably over 15 blogs a day and try to leave a comment on all of them unless I don't know what to say about the specific post.
Then if I see an interesting title on the sidebar of one of the visited blogs I'll also visit. I also get a lot of visitors but not many leave comments which is sad.
Have a nice weekend RO and thanks for the lovely facts.
I like the idea of kissing on each cheek. I've seen that on television, and always thought it was cool. LOL - I've visited just a very few that I was at a loss for words of what to say, but it's pretty rare these days. You get tons of visits for sure! Hope your weekend is as amazing as you are! Hugs...RO
DeleteI was always one reluctant to touch, but I've become a moderate hugger. Fun that its kissing and chicken day (chicken lips? LOL)
ReplyDeleteGood to know about sources of potassium beyond bananas. I did know that about the scent glands relating to how much more acute a dogs are.
You know, I have no idea how many blogs I visit in a day. It's definitely twenty, but I don't think its near sixty. Most don't get visits each day, but at least once a week. I have found several wonderful bloggers to follow are having them comment when I guest review. I've only got a few that are lifestyle blogs and I do want to find a few travel blogs that are a good fit for me. I'll have to check out those deal websites.
Have a splendid weekend, Ro!
I thought that was pretty ironic too Sophia(lol) Pretty fascinating about what dogs can do, but you already know that. When I started out with blogging, it was strictly book bloggers, but it's cool to see all the other type of bloggers that are out there where we share the same interests. I can get in that many visits when I'm up to my perky bests, but there are days when I don't even see what's going on with my own blog.(lol) Hope your weekend was great! Hugs...RO
DeleteI try and visit as many blogs as I can a day - both ones I regularly follow and any time I notice a new commentor on my blog. I do try to set a time limit on how much time I spend doing it because I could spend an infinite amount of time visiting - or at least that's how it feels! No idea sweet potatoes had potassium! How interesting!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about that Katherine! It's very easy to get caught up and let other things go, and before you know, everything is topsy turvy.(lol) I'm really trying to learn more about food these days. Hugs...RO
DeleteI'm so not a hugger but I know a lot who are. Ahh! lol
ReplyDeleteThat's a good number of blogs to visit every day. If I hit as many as I want it's 70 usually. But that's very rare these days. I'm doing good if I make it to 5-10 a day. One day things will calm down maybe. lol
I know hugging is not your thing, so I have to restrain myself every time we get together Awesome Anna(lol) On days when I'm crazy busy or not feeling well, I may visit 2 blogs, including my own.(lol) You've got some much going on, I'm always amazed you get it all done. We shall call you Supergirl! Hugs and Happy Coupon day! RO
DeleteHard to say a real number, depending on how many people are active that day and the people who quit
ReplyDeleteThere are so many blogs out there, and quite a few that a no longer evn active, so it can be rough to keep track for sure. Happy Sunday and Hugs...RO
DeleteI am a hugger too, but I am not kissing instead of hugging. Nope, no thank you. lol... It's incredible that you visit that many blogs. {hugs}
ReplyDeleteLOL! I totally agree with you Jenea, unless it's on the cheek or something like that. Happy Sunday and Hugs...RO
DeleteOh these pictures are sooooo sweet.
ReplyDelete50-60 blog visits a day? You are the Wonder Woman of the blog world, Rockin Ro.
Here's a hug without kisses:)
LOL! I just caught that hug Super Sandra along with the loud laughter due to no kisses. There are a few days when I'm lucky to visit my own blog, so those visits are on my best days which are few and far between. Sure hope you're enjoying the cooler weather today! RO
Delete50 or 60 blogs a day!! If I get to 6 I'm pleased with myself! I'm not into hugging or kissing, well unless it's my Granddaughter, and then I can't stop. :D
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of days I miss my goal Joey, and don't even look at my own blog because I'm involved in so many other things, but when my energy is up, the sky is the limit. I hear you on hugs and kisses.(lol) RO
DeleteLove the cat and dog photos! I don't visit as many blogs as I'd like, because of the amount of time it takes (particularly when I have a lot of work in hand.) But I do enjoy it, particularly book blogs, or bloggers I've gotten to know through interacting on their site and my own (like you!)
ReplyDeleteSomething about looking at animals is very soothing to me. That number is based strictly on my less busy days, because there are some days I don't even visit my own blog, Lovely Lark. (lol) I'm thrilled that I've discovered your blog and met you too, both here and on Instagram. It's cool to be a small part of your world. Hugs...RO
DeleteThat's alot of blogs you visit everyday! If I have time, I think mine would be around 20-30? I try to comment everyday, but sometimes, I just don't have time. I'm usually 2-4 days behind in blog land!! I love hugging, kissing, nope! LOL! I love fried chicken! That was an interesting list for the potassium! Thank you! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSome days I'm lucky to even get to the computer, let alone visit a ton of blogs,(lol) but there are days that I get my spurt of energy. Give me hugs every single day if I can get them too, and yes, I adore fried chicken, but cheeseburgers are still my fave. Hugs...RO
DeleteForgot to say, love those pictures!!
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch! So adorable, right? Hugs...RO
DeleteOh gosh, I look at tons of blogs almost every day. I'm not sure on the number, but I follow blogs in various ways so I'm always visiting someone. LOL
ReplyDelete-lauren
www.shootingstarsmag.net
I see you around the blogging world quite a bit, and on social media, but as much as you do outside of blogging, I don't see how you have time at all!(lol) Of course, I'm always thrilled when you stop by to wave. Hugs...RO
DeleteFascinating info on cat and mouse.
ReplyDeleteI'm always on the look out for when words and phrases originated when I'm writing.
Hugs
AND....The weather has been wondrous.
I can imagine as a writer that you're always quite busy with research. To be honest, I have no clue how you fit so much into a day. You're totally Superwoman Sandra! Hugs...RO
DeleteI wish I could visit that many blogs. There are some I visit everyday and there are those I visit occasionally. When I visit I leave comments.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of energy on one day, then everything dies out, and I end up not even visiting my own blog, Nadene.(lol) Hope you're doing well! Hugs...RO
DeleteLove the pictures …
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info too …
I enjoy visiting blogs and find blogland is a great place.
Enjoy the week ahead.
All the best Jan
Blogland is fun, and I've met some really interesting people which I love. Sure hope your week is going great! Hugs...RO
DeleteWow, 50-60 blogs? That is impressive! I try to do as many as I can, but some days are better than others for me, depending on what else I have going on. I try to do at least 20 or so each day.
ReplyDeleteAwww, those pics are all so adorable!
I can visit that many when I'm super energetic, but there are some days I can barely even make it past the tv to check out my own blog Suzanne(lol) That's a good amount that you're doing too! I really enjoy those pics too! Hope your week is going great! Hugs...RO
DeleteOooh, good info on the travel tips, Rockin Ro.
ReplyDeleteHope your day has been pleasant and productive.
Hugs
Love finding new stuff that's cool Super Sandra! Storming here right now, which is quite interesting. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Hugs...RO
DeleteBlessings.......
ReplyDeleteSayings I've heard "don't bite the hands that feed you."
i visit many though i've find that my visits are short because many blogs i've follow seem to stop blogging. Others are only visits me once i've visited them. Its the name of the game i guess. I think now is the time to start visiting new people and see what is new out there to get some active blogs.
Fried chicken day? seems everything got a day these days.
I agree. There does seem to be a new day for something, which is pretty cool. I think this time of the year, people are relaxing or vacationing since the kids are out of school. I love your blog. Always plenty of interesting discussions. Hugs...RO
DeleteFifty per day, that's such a massive commitment RO and a testament to how lovely you are! I try to visit blogs twice a week if I can but these days due to being short on time, I typically reply to any comments on my blog, then visit their blog to return the favour. I wish I had more free time to discover new blogs but unfortunately some bloggers choose not to be as interactive. Really interesting discussion RO, really enjoyed your thoughts ♡♡
ReplyDeleteSome days I have these massive spurts of energy and I'm everywhere online.(lol) Other days, I'm lucky if I even check to see what's going on with my own blog. True, some bloggers are not as interactive, which is the pits, but I always love popping over to see what you're up to. Hugs and Happy soon to be Wednesday! RO
DeleteI blog once a week so that one day a week, I visit about twenty to thirty blogs. There was a time when I visited a lot more but I found that people kinda fell off the blogging world and also, my blog is rather unique and not always easy to comment on so I get that. I still like to read other people's blogs and comment even when they don't comment on mine because for me, it's about what I find entertaining, if that makes sense?
ReplyDeleteElsie
That's a pretty good amount, and I love that your blog is about relationships, which I don't see whole lot of these days. Really glad I found you, or you found me(lol) I agree, for me, it's about seeing new places, finding new authors, trivia and learning new things. Hugs...RO
DeleteLike always reading your blog made me aware of many new useful and fun things dear Ro!
ReplyDeletehanks for Potassium!
No matter how hard i try i cannot visit as much blog as you mentioned
hardly 5 to 15 i guss
i know that day has passed yet sending you blessings and warm hugs!
Hey Baili! I'm glad you found a few things that you can use. True, it can be hard to visit blogs when other things are going on in life. I'm glad you have time to stop over here to visit when you can,a nd I always love your positive outlook. Hugs...RO
DeleteI visit a lot of blogs and I have a blogroll of about 300 blogs so that does make it easier to visit, though I seem to be commenting less than before. but I still love visiting blogs and learning new things and discovering new books to read and finding out more about the blogger behind the blog. and of course, it is always nice that bloggers visit each other even if they don't leave comments.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
You do have a lot of blogs for sure Lissa, and as busy as you are, I don't see how you find time to visit any.(lol) But I love coming over to find out about your life which is very interesting. You always have something fun to say and your artwork is amazing. Hugs...RO
DeleteWow that's awesome you can visit 50-60 blogs on a good day. I used to make more time for blog visiting. Now most days I only visit 1 or 2 blogs at most and if I have a good day maybe 10 or so. I do miss being able to do more blog visiting, but it does take up quite some time. now I usually do most of my blog visiting during the weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the cute animal picture at the bottom of your post.
Aren't those pictures so fun to look at? It's rough to visit blogs, and with your schedule, I don't know how you fit it all in.(lol) I love when you stop by for a visit.
DeleteGood to know about the potassium sources. I'm not sure I've had parsnips. Have you?
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend is as fun as you are, Rockin Ro.
I'm really trying to focus on eating more healthy, but it's sure like pulling weeds in a garden Super Sandra. I get the energy to pull them out a little, but it's hard to stick with it,and remove them all from the yard.(lol) Hope your weekend was great too! Hugs...RO
DeleteI don't have a good internet source (I still do it one step above dial up lol) so blog visits vary but I do love to check a handful out as often as possible because they just lift up my mood. I love your blog because there's always something interesting to read!
ReplyDeleteHey There Adria! I know you're on a blogging break, but I love checking out all yourneat pics on Instagram that gives me a peek into your world, and your blog is cool too. Hugs and hope you're doing well! RO
DeleteI think that Gibson factory would be amazing. And I have no idea how many blogs I visit a day, but some days I know it's a lot! Other days I might visit less- it kinda depends. Days like today when I go Sunday Post-ing (ha) it's probably quite a high number!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics. The one with the rocks that look like they're kissing made me think of Arch Rock on Mackinac Island in Michigan- not because of any kissing but just because it's a cool rock. :) Here's a look.
https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g42423-d277455-Reviews-Arch_Rock-Mackinac_Island_Mackinac_County_Upper_Peninsula_Michigan.html
I'm really into music, so I would absolutely love to see that Gibson factory! Some days I go crazy visiting everywhere, but there are days that I get caught up in projects, or under the weather, and it messes up my totals which I hate.(lol) What a really neat pic. Nature never ceases to amaze me! Hugs... and hope you're feeling 100% these days! RO
DeleteI like bananas but good to know of other options. I like reading blogs and learning new stuff daily!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to meet new peeps? I adore it so much! Hugs and Happy Sunday! RO
DeleteHope your week so far has been productive and pleasant, Rockin Ro.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Hey There Super Sandra! So many things going on these days, and it just doesn't seem like enough days in the week. Still, I have a secret need to delete Monday from the work week. (lol) HUGE Hugs and Happy Sunday! RO
