I've watched Mayweather box in the past mostly because of parties hosted by my husband, and I wasn't impressed. His behavior just seemed as if he felt a sense of entitlement and poor sportsmanship. When I found out, however, that he had been charged with domestic violence, I realized my intuition was right on point.
In my opinion, it doesn't matter how much money is flashed around, or how many fights are won, the mistreatment of women exhibits a poor excuse for a man.
Recently an article was written on Yahoo Sports and the Sydney Morning Herald about his denial of entry into the country of Australia based on his past violence towards women, and I say "Bravo"!
His intent it appears, was to do a 2 day tour of various landmarks throughout Melbourne and Sydney Australia. Apparently, there were also plans to have people meet him at a huge party at a popular casino that has already been paid for, and fees will need to be refunded to fans, as well.
This boxer is the highest paid athlete in the world, despite his consistent bad criminal treatment towards women, and what's worse is that he appears to have no remorse. Also, these financial losses that would hurt us, would probably not even put a dent in his wallet.
There's plans for an appeal, but that's not really the issue. When will someone make him accountable for the things he'd done, so that he learns a lesson? His camp needs to have the courage to work with him on changing his negative opinion of women and stop allowing him to get away with what he wants simply because he has a ton of money.
It won't matter if he fights the pope, the president, the governor or Manny Pacquio for an alleged $1 billion dollars, someone needs to tell this person "no" and stand by it. Let's have some accountability.
I have strong views about domestic violence, but if you think I'm in the minority, take a look at the comments below regarding what others think of this sports "hero".

Unlike the UK who just let convicted murderers in, to then let them murder one of their own citizens.
