Are you a Target shopper and like to find the best bargain possible?  If so, some days are better to shop based on what you're looking for.  Also, don't be so quick to purchase an item that looks like a steal before reading these tips listed below.

1.  Target Markdown Schedule

Children's clothing, electronics, accessories, books, baby items and stationary.
Women’s clothing, pet supplies, domestic items, and pantry food items
Health and beauty aids, diapers for babies, lawn/garden items, men’s clothing and furniture.
Housewares items, shoes for the family, lingerie, toys, sporting goods, home decorations and luggage.
Cosmetics, automobile merchandise, hardware and jewelry.
2. Target Markdown Codes

  • Items with prices ending in $__._9 are the regular price
  • Items with prices ending in $__,_8 are discounted
  • Items with prices ending in $__,_4 are the final clearance
  • The small numbers in the top right corner of the price tag indicate the percentage discount you’re getting off the regular price (i.e. if you see “50”, that’s 50% off the regular or original price)
The lower left of the clearance tag shows the original price while the small numbers in the upper right hand corner tell you the percentage taken off for the markdown.
3. There Will Be Another Markdown if the price ends in $.06 or $.08
STOP! As long as that merchandise continues to sit there on the rack or shelf, it will be marked down again about 2 weeks later.

Knowing this information also helps at the register if the price rings up incorrectly, so you'll definitely impress the people behind you with your savvy shopping skills. (lol)
