TALKING ABOUT SEX WITH FRIENDS - YES OR NO?

I had a friend once who regaled me with all the raw details of her sex life on the regular.  She discussed her orgasms, the size of her partner's 'package', and how a man made her feel.  I've read various genres of romance all my life, and even watched a porn movie on a dare, but I could never get used to her casual conversations about those sexual escapades.

I'm not a prude, or at least I don't think I am(lol),but I was always embarrassed and never knew what in the heck to say.  To be honest, I sort of wanted to cover my ears like a little kid. (lol) I mean, was I supposed to reciprocate with my own info? Should I have agreed with what she talked about?
Most of the time I just laughed, or tried to change the subject. A few times I even said, "Girl - you're crazy!" and walked away. (lol) Even worse, she got a kick out of my reaction. It took a few years, but she finally stopped trying to get a response from me.(lol)

I'm the person who feels more comfy talking about your back pain, your kids, what you ate for dinner, that last really good book you read, or what you did on vacation.

When I was much younger I worked the overnight shift at Walgreens and there always seemed to be this huge rush on condoms after 11pm. It seemed crazy that no one showed up during normal business hours, right? (lol)

It was really weird too.  Sometimes a guy would practically run up to me and throw the box on the counter.  But a few used to saunter, and slowly slide the merchandise on the counter mixed with other stuff, as if I wouldn't notice. (lol) Either way I could feel my face turning red  and just wanted to get that sale over with quickly.

Has this ever happened to you? How did you handle it?  Do you talk about sex with your friends?  Does this happen with just young people, or is everyone on board?

POST OFFICE NEWS
Do you still use the post office to send off payments, love letters or gifts?  Despite having so many states, the US does not have the most post offices. The country at the top of the list is actually India with over a million post offices and close to 5 million employees! The United States employs about 600,000 career/non-career employees and has nearly 35,000 offices overall.  Sadly these figures continue to dwindle annually.

HAVE A SCOOP & GET IN THE LOOP

July is National Ice Cream Month and I'm just going to come clean.  When it comes to eating ice cream from a cone, I'm the world's worst.  It drips down my hands, ruins my shoes, and has even been known to show up in my hair.(lol)  So when it comes to any kind of ice cream, I need to have it in a cup please.

Even though vanilla is still the number one flavor that most people eat, there are tons of treats at ice cream shops all over the world that are creative and fun these days.

Sweet Action Ice Cream in Denver - Goat Cheese Beet Swirl is made with actual roasted beets. Maggie Sheehan, Jennifer Meyers

The Ice Cream Store in Rehoboth Beach - Catching Fire is made with mango, orange and strawberry swirls which sounds pretty neat, but I'm definitely not adventurous enough to eat that LIVE scorpion garnish that's on top!Maggie Sheehan, Jennifer Meyers

Mashti Malone in Los Angeles - Rosewater Sorbet. Huh?  This is made with lemon juice, sour cherry syrup and saffron ice cream that's topped off with rose water flavored sorbet directly from Iran, and  sprinkled throughout with actual rice noodles.  The Ice Cream Show

Citizens Bank Park, the home of the Philadelphia Phillies, also offers up edible cookie dough from Jane Dough.

MOMS UNITE
According to a recent study from Crispy Green, two-thirds of mothers admitted that they hide a goodie stash so other members can't get a hold of it. (lol)

INDIGESTION CURE FOR CHEAP
I've tried this many times and it always works.  Some people mix 1/4 tsp of baking soda in 1/4 cup of water, but I use a tiny spoonful and within minutes you'll be indigestion free.

CREATIVE ARTWORK
Do you remember Etch a Sketch?  Were you ever able to draw anything more than a rectangular television like me?(lol)  This really cool toy has been around since 1960, and I still see small versions in stores.

George Vlosich started working with Etch a Sketch when he was 10 years old in 1989, is now pretty famous AND rich.

It took about 80 hours each to create drawings of President Donald Trump, President Barack Obama, The Beetles, Tiger Woods and more using that same toy, and they are now worth thousands of dollars.

Crystal Gonzales

I just don't get it. With the outside temperature being a blistering 100 degrees in California, what would possess a woman to leave two children in the car while she shopped in Walmart?  One child was 1, and the other was 9 months.

A woman saw the children in the  car and called the police, who then removed them safely from the vehicle.

Arrested and then released on a $100,000 bond, the 34 year old  said she left the kids in the car  because they were sleeping and didn't want to wake them up.

Did Ms. Gonzales consider that those kids may have never awakened again?

HOW MANY BLOGS DO YOU VISIT, AND SOME OTHER STUFF

I'm a hugger, but these days, people are not as touchy feely.  But I'm not a kisser, so even though Friday, July 6 is International Kissing Day, I won't be snuggling up to any strangers.(lol)

Today is also National Fried Chicken Day, which I think I will take advantage of.  Though quite rare, if you have an actual fear of chickens, it's called Alektorophobia.

THAT'S A LOT OF SMELLING
Did you know that us humans have 5 million scent detecting cells, which sure sounds like a lot - but dogs actually have 200 million?!

WORDS YOU'VE HEARD
You may have heard the old phrase, "cat and mouse games" which means loosely the act of being constantly chased and nearly escaping eventual capture, and dates way back to 1675.  Some describe it as a game that keeps going on and on and never ends.

GET YOUR POTASSIUM ON
Whenever someone tells us to eat potassium, we automatically run out to buy a ton of bananas, which I like sometimes.  But we can also get potassium in parsnip, spinach, sweet potatoes, avocados, coconut water and tomato sauce.

SWEET MUSIC
In Memphis TN, there's a Gibson factory where you can watch guitars actually being built, painted and tuned.  A Gibson Guitar can easily range in prices of up to $5000!

HOW MANY BLOGS DO YOU VISIT A DAY?
Initially, I started reading a few romance review blogs years ago.  Then I started my own blog and didn't know what the heck I was doing.  Eventually I gathered the courage to visit more blogs every day and comment.  When I'm feeling super perky, I can easily visit about 50-60 blogs a day, but I've known people who visit a lot more than that.  On a bad day, I even pass on looking at my own blog(lol).

I really love interacting with other people and their blogs because I learn new things, and find lots of similarities.  Even better, it's just fun.  What about you?  How many blogs are you visiting on a daily basis?
