February 4th is a great day to be born! My mom, who is up in heaven and smiling right now, was born today, and it's also Thank Your Mailman Day, and Stuffed Mushroom Day. I'd like to thank the mailman, but I never seem to see him or her around, so while I'm out and about today, I'll be sure to wave to all the mail people and give them super big smiles!
Mushrooms are good for you and a natural fat burner, but they're still not my fave, so they won't be getting any special love today. *heh* If you're feeling very inventive with lots of energy, you'll also be pleased to know that you Can Create a Vacuum Cleaner today.
I'm sorry your mom isn't with you anymore. My mom has been gone for almost 5 years. It's not easy. I love mushrooms! I made crab stuffed mushrooms a few years ago when my family came over and they were gone in a couple of minutes. I should have made more.
ReplyDeleteYes, it can be rough when we lose a parent for sure. No, no to mushrooms, Mary! (lol) Glad your family enjoyed yours! Hugs...
DeleteIt is so hard to lose one's mother and I am very sorry for your loss, RO. Time heals but not everything.
ReplyDeleteMy dear mother's soul left this earth almost 22 years ago...I still miss her so very much.
I love mushrooms and your yummy, looking photos made me hungry :)
My hubby and I are retired USPS workers and I would love to accept a cyber hug from you :))
For sure, our moms are important and missed once they've moved to heaven. I sure hope you received my cyber hug yesterday evening, Jan! (lol)
DeleteI vacuumed today but I didn't create a vacuum does that count? I'll also give my share of mushrooms to someone else. I'm not a fan. The flavor isn't so bad but the texture gets me. I don't like squishy food. A very happy birthday to your mom. February 4th is a great day to be born and I'm quite sure she's smiling down.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Katherine! Yay - a kindred spirit with the mushroom thing. I agree, the squishiness and lack of flavor don't work for me at all, but they do burn fat for sure. Thanks for the well wishes for my mom. Hugs...
DeleteI like Mary's idea of mushrooms stuffed with crab meat. Thanks, Mary, (and, RO) for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI like most things to be stuffed, Angela, but something about mushrooms is just not fun! (lol)
DeleteI had stuffed mushrooms last night--a day late, I guess! So sorry your mom can't be with you to celebrate her birthday. Big hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking like lots of peeps enjoy this mushroom thing, lol! Hugs...
DeleteBlessings....
ReplyDeletethose mushrooms looks good though i don't eat mushroom per say, may its because am hungry, i've been sitting here browsing through bloggersphere since around 8 am, its 12:26 now.
Isn't it great to do that when you have the time Rhapsody? That's how I've met many new friends, like yourself! No mushrooms for me, either. Hugs...
DeleteEeew on the mushrooms. I'm like the only veggie who can't stand em I think. lol
ReplyDeleteAws on the momma. Yes, a great day to have been born.
Something about the tast of mushrooms is a real turn off, but it seems like many people enjoy the taste. Thanks and big hugs..
Delete(HUGS) It's my birthday as well. So I share this day with a great woman. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated B-Day Joyous Joy! Sure hope it was totally fab, like you!!!! Hugs right back!
DeleteI know last Friday was also National Nutella day... all these national days are so entertaining... I love mushrooms! I'm not versed on theeir names, but I know there are some that are almost as good as meat. Shitake is great for soups. I know it can be earthy sometimes so I get why some people don't like it.
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm with you on all these fun days, particularly the ones tied to food! )lol) No, no, no to mushrooms, but I know they are super healthy. Hugs...
