WHAT'S YOUR ALL TIME PET PEEVE & NATIONAL DRINK A BEER DAY

According to Merriam-Webster, a Pet Peeve is something that annoys or bothers a person very much. As a kid, not only was I a tomboy, but I was also very short on patience, causing me to get into all kinds of trouble and arguments.  It wasn't until joining the USAF that I realized the importance of tact and kindness when speaking with others.  So you already know that my pet peeve would have to be cruelty of any kind.  I hate to see animals abandoned on the street, women with black eyes, seeing human trafficking on the news, or hearing someone degraded in person or via social media because of their looks, sexual orientation, political affiliation, sex, or race.  The other thing that really bugs me is cheating. I don't want to read about it in a book  watch a movie that has it as the main theme, and pray for me, but if you're a friend and cheat on your husband or wife, I'll never look at you the same again, and the trust will be gone, gone, gone. Yes, that's pretty extreme I know, but I consider that yet another cruel way to mistreat someone.    Those who know they are going to cheat, probably shouldn't waste their own time or anyone else's by even getting married.

Almost everyone has something that someone does that really gets on their nerves.  What's your pet peeve?

NATIONAL DRINK A BEER DAY
Get your frosted beer mugs out because according to www.Intoxicologist.net, September 28 is National Drink a Beer Day. This is not to be confused with National Beer Day which is actually in April! Apparently whoever came up with these two holidays really wanted the opportunity to have everyone join in the fun of drinking.

NATIONAL STRAWBERRY CREAM PIE DAY
But if you're not a beer drinker and would rather eat your treat instead, take advantage of those juicy strawberries you were wondering what to do with that everyone forgot about in the fridge. (lol)

  1. My biggest pet peeve is liars. If I see you lie to someone else or I find out a person lies to me, I feel like I can never trust that person again. To me it's almost the worst thing a person can do to me.

The other is finding out that a person stays with someone who is abusive. Yes, I know a lot of abused women end up forgiving the men and staying with them or going back but it gets under my skin like I can't even explain.

When I was 18, my then boyfriend came into my workplace and beat me up. Gave me a black eye, bloody lip and a concussion. My boss decided not to press charges so I did and he got 30 days in jail. But I didn't take him back, that was it for me.

    1. Totally agree on the lying thing. It is an abuse of trust. Sadly, because I work closely with women who are abused, there are many reasons they stay. Low self-esteem, fear of being physically harmed, lack of support, threatening family or children, loss of income, etc. On average an abused woman will take back a man 4-5 times before an epiphany occurs, causing her to leave for good. I am so sorry that happened to you, and had to be a nightmare! Glad all is well now. Hugs...

  3. Strawberry Cream Pie does trump beer for me. Thanks for the alternative. ;)

Peeves, gossip b/c it can hurt and destroy almost as much as physical abuse, but I, too, have low tolerance for cheating. I've seen it wreck some beautiful people.

    1. The taste of beer sadly reminds me of ashes, which I know sounds crazy! (lol) Cheating does hurt families in the long run for sure. Hugs...

  4. I'm the same way with cheating. If a book even edges on cheating (like not being fully broken up before the main characters start flirting) I avoid it. On a lighter note the thing that drives me crazy regularly is people who just leave shopping carts in the middle of the parking lot. The ONLY way not returning it is even mildly acceptable is if you're in a handicapped space and the cart is pushed out of the way where it interferes with no one. Other than that I go off on rants.

    1. You are so funny! I actually blogged about lonely shopping carts in the parking lot and totally agree with your thoughts! It's dangerous and can cause vehicles to be damaged or even people. I need the exercise, so I've been taking mine back inside. There are so many really good authors out there, some may write about cheating because they may be able to relate or it helps to get over the hurt. I think others may do so, because it's mainstream. Still, for me, even thought those authors are talented, I just can't buy that book. Sorry!

  5. I think every single pet peeve I have goes back to "consideration for others." Whether it's camping out in a certain spot in the grocery store for 15 minutes or driving in the fast lane on the interstate going 30 mph--it's just people who seem to think they don't share the planet with others. I think the world would be a better place if we'd all just open our eyes, look around, and accept the fact that the world doesn't revolve around us!

    1. LOL! I can relate to a lot of those, for sure. I can tell from pics that your home is pristine. Loud chewing just seems so embarrassing, right? (lol)

  7. Oh I really really hate it when people share memes without actually looking up the information in them first. Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's true. Research, people, research! It just dumbs down society when people do this.

    1. Yep! Best to make your own meme about something that happened, right? I also have the inside scoop and know this stuff gets on your nerves! (lol) Hugs...
