CHILLIN' CHILLED STRAWBERRY SOUP & SUNDAY STUFF

If you have an Aldi's in your neck of the woods, you can get a package of fresh strawberries for just $1.29. Wal-mart also has them on sale at this price on occasion, so they're the perfect fruit to keep in your fridge for plenty of simple recipes.  Unfortunately, Aldi's does not accept coupons.

INGREDIENTS
2 Pkgs (16 Oz. Each) Strawberries, quartered
2 1/2 Cups Peeled Seeded Honeydew Melon Chunks
1/2 Cup Strawberry Yogurt
2 Tbs Confectioners Sugar
1 Tsp Grated Orange Zest
1/8 Teaspoon Salt
1 Can Ginger Ale
Whipped Cream
Strawberry Slices and Mint Sprigs, optional

DIRECTIONS
In a food processor, process the strawberries and honeydew until smooth.  Add the yogurt, confectioners' sugar, orange zest and salt.  Process until blended, then transfer to a bowl.  Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Just before serving, stir in the ginger ale, pour into small teacups or other decorative bowls.  If you like, add a dollop of whipped cream, garnish with strawberry slices and mint sprigs.

If you want to make this even more decadent, substitute Prosecco or Riesling for the Ginger Ale. This should serve about 8 people, and is ready in 25 minutes.

CALIFORNIA AMBROSIA
With 3 whole ingredients, there's no way you can go wrong with this recipe, and if you're counting, the calories are only 137.  This is perfect for a picnic or potluck because it's so simple to make.

INGREDIENTS
4 Large Navel Oranges
2/3 Cup Flaked Sweetened Coconut
1 Tablespoon Grand Marnier

DIRECTIONS
Peel and section oranges over a bowl, reserving the juice.  Place the orange sections in a bowl with the juice.  Add the coconut and liqueur, stirring gently.  Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours.  If you want to go wild, feel free to add some whipped cream!

 DOCTOR'S SECRETS
One hundred of the country's top doctors got together to share some really good tips on home remedies.  I had a burn from cooking that was super painful, and I actually tried this.

Place half an onion on the burn until the pain stops.  According to one of the doctors, onions contain sulphur compounds and other plant chemicals, which are some of the same ingredients found in all those pricey treatments you get over the counter.

For more tips, get Doctor's Secrets for your library today.

From June 4 - June 17, we're all getting social and hanging out with new and old friends. Thanks to Anna Cade from Anna at Herding Cats & Burning Soup for hosting this really cool event.

  10. Look at you with the refreshing cold recipes. I will definitely be trying the Strawberry Melon soup.

I have a similar home remedies book and I love it. The onion is great to help fight infection when a half is brought into the sick room.

  12. Holy Cow Ro I'm so making this soup like tonight. I'm lucky enough to have an Aldi in my neighborhood. It's amazing how the secret of Alidi is out and the stores are always crowded not like when I first started shopping there 20 years ago.
    Great savings tips too!

    1. You make a good point, Debbie. I've started noticing the huge crowds in there as well. To beat the crowds you have to go right before they close, or as soon as they open. Anything else is like rush hour in New York. Don't you just love strawberries and honeydew? Hugs...

  18. Both the recipes look amazing - especially the strawberry soup. I love the addition on ginger ale. That sounds so tasty and refreshing! I'll have to keep the onion trick in mind for burns. 28. My name is DOROTHY LISA, I want to share a great testimony on this website on how great a man called Prophet Abulele helped me in getting pregnant, me and my husband have been trying to have a baby for over 12 years, but they were no luck so we decided to contact the family doctor and after all the test have been done, he said to us that my Fallopian tube is not functioning. then one day I was in the office when a friend of mine who had the same problem with me, got her baby after she contacted Prophet Abulele. she directed me to him and when I contacted him through his email: prophetabulelehealingtemple@gmail.com and he prayed for me and sent me an herbal medicine, which I took for few days and in 3 weeks’ time, as he told me, i was feeling somehow and I went to meet the family doctor who told me that I am pregnant. if you know that you have a similar problem like this, or any fertility issue and you want to be pregnant you can contact Prophet Abulele: prophetabulelehealingtemple@gmail.com OR WhatsApp him on +2349022406159

  29. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
