DO YOU STILL USE THIS?
Fifty Cents from Staples |
What really surprised me was the cost. At $.50 each, I consider that a real deal and had to snag them right up. I mentioned it to a lady beside me, and we both decided they were so inexpensive because everyone went online to get definitions these days. Do you still use this fossil?

One of my celebrity girl crushes is Martha Stewart. I love when she bakes, her sarcasm is funny, her decorating skills are phenomenal, and she can do anything. So of course, when I heard she was NOT on the pumpkin spice bandwagon, I grinned with glee.
No fan of pumpkin spice, I sure don't want it on pizza. Yet yesterday on Good Morning America, there it was in all its glory - A Pumpkin Spice Pizza.
Yes there is pumpkin spice everything right now, we saw pumpkin spice peanut butter at the grocery store, I will say that the pumpkin ice cream is good...I don't think I want it in my coffee though.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, Jimmy! You saw Pumpkin Spice Peanut Butter?(lol) That sounds crazy! It's not my fave flavor, but I do get a kick out of seeing how it's being used these days. Hugs...RO
DeleteYou are the sweetest, and yes this is one of my favorite holidays!
ReplyDeleteYou're always the best Kim, and I appreciate you! Happy Wednesday! Hugs...RO
DeleteI use a digital one, some words aren't in the book versions
ReplyDeleteI imagine most people are probably doing the same thing Adam, because it's so much easier when you're already online. I know my books are outdated, but when I can, I still take a peek. You're right though, I know there are tons of words that aren't in my old version. Hugs...
DeleteI saw this morning on the early news that Dunkin Donuts (I think they may only be in the U.S.) was giving a free cup of java if you bought a cup. I assure you, today is DEFINITELY my day. I drink the stuff 24/7. That may be why I only sleep about three hours in 24. But don't try to cure me of my caffeine addiction, or there will be he\\ to pay.
ReplyDeleteI used to be known for my perfectly wrapped and perfectly lined up paper I used for my gifts. Mitered corners, planned details, even the bow and decorations had to match the gift. NOW I take the old red rosin paper off my craft table, cut it to size and sew it into a container large enough to fit the gift. I do a bit of stamping before I cut it, but that's about it. No one seems to complain, since they know how much I love to sew paper. Be Amazon doesn't have THAT option (grin).
If I had a Staples in MY town, I'd be there in a heartbeat. The pages make great backgrounds for mixed media.
Hope you are having a caffeine induced coffee filled day, dear Ro.
You're right about that Elizabeth, and I'll bet if they saw your creative work, would hire you in an instant. We had a friend way back in the day who dressed in all black, chain smoked and drank coffee all day long, and she had all these neat stories to tell. Like you, she didn't sleep much, and was always busy doing all these projects. I drink frappuccino about 3 days a week, but I need to make sure I don't go overboard. You're safe from me trying to cure you, though. (lol) We tried to do that with this lady a couple of years ago who had to have her caffeine fix, and it was a disaster! Sounds like everyone knows what to get you for Christmas, huh? (lol) Hugs...
DeleteI know it sounds a little cocky but I'm very good at creating beautifully wrapped parcels, but my issue is I take too much time doing them. You know I go a bit too arty farty with them. Must be my background in graphic design! But it's a job I'd enjoy doing. Maybe I should contact Harrods. :D
ReplyDeleteI think I need to hire you to do my wrapping from now on! (lol) I just love it when people can be so creative like that. Perhaps some pics in the near future? Hugs...
DeleteI’m actually excited about International coffee day, I really enjoy drinking coffee, it took me a couple of years to really like it, but now I’m hooked. I use my thesaurus pretty much everyday because i write everyday and I’m always looking to expand my vocabulary.
ReplyDeleteYou're right Mary, using that thesaurus works for me that way too, and really helps. I'm a frappachino fan, but have to drink it in moderation. Hugs...
DeleteI'm not really a coffee person but these photos make me want a cup.
ReplyDeleteThe Glossychic
I drink a cup about 3 times per week. Aren't the pics fun? Hugs and thanks for stopping by! RO
DeleteI don't drink a lot of coffee, I'm more of a tea drinker.
ReplyDeleteI drink coffee maybe 3 times per week, but I love my teas. There are so many flavors to choose from. Hugs...RO
DeleteI love a hot cup of coffee early in the morning with the weekend paper by my side. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
What a great way to relax before the day starts, right? Hugs and happy Wednesday! RO
DeleteSadly coffee no longer agrees with me. I love its aroma, but can't drink it. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThis dinosaur does use a thesaurus. And a dictionary (several dictionaries).
There are some days that happens to me as well EC, so I have to stick to 3 days a week. I do enjoy my tea as well because of all the neat flavors. I'm so glad I'm not alone when it comes to still using dictionaries and the thesaurus, and find that I still need them both beside me for guidance. Hugs...RO
DeleteJust saw your comment on my shimmering mists. Nothing surprises me about you, Ro (grin). How did I come up with the idea? I knew you needed a "binder" to hold these mica powders in place and I knew PVA glue is a binder. Just made sense. How I came up with distilled water is, I purchased some used acrylic paints at a garage sale one time. I got them home and two were moldy. I realized the person had added tap water to the paint, so I experimented with some nearly empty paint I added distilled water to. Even after six months, the paint was still as "fresh" as the day I added the water. That's when I knew distilled water was the way to go.
ReplyDeleteI lived for awhile in Mission. Some called it Shawnee/Mission. I lived right off Johnson Drive. I remember stopping in Lenexa on my way to finding the house I was hoping to buy. I told a friend on the phone I was in Kansas City. The lady at the check-out bristled and said I was in JOHNSON COUNTY. I never made that mistake again!
That's pretty cool about the paints, and I see you like garage sales as I do. You can find plenty of treasures there. LOL - I can picture the lady and Johnson County. The Kansas City Chiefs live in Leawood(right next door to Overland Park). It's one of the cleanest cities I've ever lived in, and my son really enjoyed it, so I thought about moving back many years ago. The yard sales there are fab! Hugs...
DeleteI am neither a coffee or tea drinker.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty interesting Nadene? Lemonade, perhaps? Hugs and happy Wednesday! RO
DeleteOh gosh no...no pumpkin spice pizza please lol...I LOVE Martha. I have some of her cookbooks too. I used to watch her show religiously when I had a tv. I love this time of year, with all the colours...my own pumpkins are stalling a little. One is turning orange, but I may have to buy a few more, I love having lots of them to carve!
ReplyDeleteAnd I do love my coffee. For me it's a morning ritual and I enjoy it so much! Hope you have a great weekend RO :)
Yay! Can you imagine just hanging out with Martha for one day to soak in all that knowledge? She's amazing, but then so are you. Maybe if I stopped watching cooking shows so much, I could be like you and actually grow things! Coffee fans unite! Hugs...RO
DeleteRO!!! I loved everything in this post and the joy that it brought to the upcoming seasons of autumn and winter. I especially loved your paper bag gift wrap...it is so "Vintage Homey" :)
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs Always...Jan
Vintage Homey sounds pretty fun, Jan! Hugs...RO
Deletep.s. - continue to hang in there!
ReplyDeletemmm nothing like a good cuppa. And I can't wrap a gift to save my life. :)
And I love pumpkins (and pumpkin spice) and I love pizza, but not together I don't think!
Pumpkin spice is definitely not my thing, but I do sort of get a kick out of seeing the different recipes people come up with this time of year. These days, people are lucky if a gift gets thrown in a colorful bag! (lol) Hugs...
DeleteI do occasionally drink coffee so it was good to read your post.
ReplyDeleteI still enjoy using a dictionary!
All the best Jan
I drink it about 3 times per week, but it's not supposed to be on my diet. (lol) Hugs...
DeleteGreat post and as far as I'm concerned everyday is national coffee day!!!
ReplyDeleteCoffee drinkers unite! Hugs...and Happy Wednesday!
DeleteI just use dictionary.com and thesaurus.com. So much easier than digging up a physical book every time I need one (and I do need one, often).
ReplyDeleteLOL! I think most people are doing that these days, because we're online so often, and it's easier. I still keep one of those huge ones on the bookcase, just in case, and the smaller one of the desk. Hope you're doing well and your football team is winning. Mine, of course, needs to get back in the game!(lol) Hugs...RO
DeleteI didn't end up having a coffee on Friday, but I had one on Saturday to make up for it, haha. I'm a huge coffee lover, so it's been hard for me to cut back, since I'm nursing my daughter, but I'm making it work with decaf, lol. Thanks for sharing and I hope you're having a great start to your week so far!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jalisa
THE STYLE CONTOUR
I enjoy my frappachino, and need to cut way back too, but it's sure rough. Sure hope your day has been fantastic Jalisa! Hugs...RO
DeleteActually...pumpkin spice pizza might not be too bad. They serve a luscious chocolate chip one around here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving the light on, Rockin Ro.
Hugs
Girl, no!(lol) If the pizza was a sweet one with pumpkin spice I may go for it, but adding tomato sauce and all the other fixings for a pizza? That chocolate chip one I've tried before and loved it. I think I was at Cici's or someplace like that. I had to change the bulb once, but I'm absolutely thrilled you're back and even though you're not talking,(lol) I hope you're really feeling better. Hugs...RO
DeleteRo, I have missed you... I have missed blogging so much but I found it so difficult to get back into it.. Finally I felt the time was right xox
ReplyDeleteI would pay good money to have people wrap my gifts, I am terrible... last year I had 2 people come by for a visit asking me if they could help me with anything... they wrapped every last gift, it was wonderful xox
Lovely Launna, I'm so happy to hear from you, and glad to know that you're hanging in there despite such pain. Send your friends to my place this Christmas, i sure could use them too! (lol) Hugs...RO
DeleteAh coffee!!! I love coffee. The first cup in the morning is bliss.
ReplyDeleteI try to drink it just 3 times per week, but I loved flavored tea as well. I agree, that it is such a great way to start the day. Hugs...RO
DeleteOh, my, I would love to get that Thesaurus. I like having hard copy to thumb through.
ReplyDeleteHey Nasreen! I enjoy having the around for the same reason. Hugs...
DeleteOh gosh, no to the pumpkin spice pizza! How is that any good? I'm not a coffee drinker - I'm actually pretty adverse to any warm drinks!
ReplyDelete-Lauren
www.shootingstarsmag.net
I'm with you on the pumpkin spice thing Lauren. Sometimes I like the hot drinks, but when I drink my water, it has to be ice ice baby! Hugs...
DeleteLove coffee, Martha and wrapping gifts! Not so big on the pumpkin spice. I love it in the tradition things, like Pumpkin Pie! I do make a really good Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake too! Pumpkin pizza sounds disgusting! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love Martha Stewart! That Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake sounds very inviting. So thrilled you stopped by to say hello! Hugs...RO
DeleteCoffee and books. Sounds like a match made in heaven to me:)
ReplyDeleteCan you believe Christmas is just around the corner?!
Hugs,
I know, right? Christmas items are already up in stores, and I've been wanting to work on decorating my Planner for the holidays, as well. Hugs...RO
DeleteI live for coffee! I need to follow a few links in this posts.
ReplyDeleteI try to stick to just 3 days a week, otherwise I wouldn't get much done due to the sugar and caffeine overload. (lol) Hope you can take advantage of the freebies. Hugs...RO
DeleteYou have a great post here darling!! I keep my twin books dictionary and thesaurus on my desk, it really helps with my writing and doing reviews. I am not always a fan of pumpkin spice, although Jamba juice has a great pumpkin smash that is delicious.
ReplyDeleteI love the feel of books in my hands and don't know what I'm going to do if everything goes digital in the next 5-10 years. Hugs...RO
DeleteHope you've had a pleasant and productive day, Rockin Ro.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
I did get a few things done today, Sandra, and will shortly wind down in the front of the tv with a cheeseburger.(lol) HUGE Hugs...
DeleteI used to drink lots and lots of tea and coffee, but my GP recommended I go without. I've managed for three months, and I’m beginning to feel the benefits but boy do I miss it! He didn’t tell me to stop reading so I’m using the money I save on coffee to buy an extra book or two.
ReplyDeleteI have a thesaurus in my desk draw which I use from time to time, but more often it’s quicker and easier to go online.
I have no idea what pumpkin spice tastes like! Perhaps it’s better not to try it, or I might just decide I like it and in six months time my doctor will be saying I need to come off it. :)
Hi Barbara, I definitely hear you on that one. I try to keep the coffee to three times per week, but I do love my tea, and all those different flavors. LOL! I love that you can use the extra cash for books and a fantastic idea! It easier to check things online, but I just like the comfort of a book in my hand when possible. Hugs...RO
DeleteHappy Coffee day!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so thrilled you stopped by to say hello and Happy Wednesday! Hugs...RO
DeleteLOL on the wrappings. I get by but mine aren't stunning like Kelly's. Hers are always so dang pretty.
ReplyDeleteKels definitely has some amazing wrapping skills. True artwork! Hugs...
DeleteMy name is DOROTHY LISA, I want to share a great testimony on this website on how great a man called Prophet Abulele helped me in getting pregnant, me and my husband have been trying to have a baby for over 12 years, but they were no luck so we decided to contact the family doctor and after all the test have been done, he said to us that my Fallopian tube is not functioning. then one day I was in the office when a friend of mine who had the same problem with me, got her baby after she contacted Prophet Abulele. she directed me to him and when I contacted him through his email: prophetabulelehealingtemple@gmail.com and he prayed for me and sent me an herbal medicine, which I took for few days and in 3 weeks’ time, as he told me, i was feeling somehow and I went to meet the family doctor who told me that I am pregnant. if you know that you have a similar problem like this, or any fertility issue and you want to be pregnant you can contact Prophet Abulele: prophetabulelehealingtemple@gmail.com OR WhatsApp him on +2349022406159
ReplyDeleteI was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
ReplyDeleteliver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
