WHAT ARE YOU OBSESSED ABOUT?

You already know that I watch Top Chef, Chopped and other cooking programs over and over.  I've watched how to fillet a fish over and over again, but how about I totally butchered the fish my husband caught in the pond the other day! (lol) After managing to salvage a few of the pieces, and getting rid of all those bones, the meal actually turned out pretty well. Thank goodness.  It's probably much safer for us to give away what gets caught in the future, and continue to purchase cut and deboned fish from the store, huh? (lol)
This is the Bass caught by Handy Hubby that ended up on the dinner table. (lol)
Anywho, I'm pretty laid back and love to laugh, but there are a few things I'm really obsessive about.

1.  Would love for you to come over, but if you pick out a DVD for us to watch, and don't put it back in its original location, my hair starts to stand up, and there's the possibility of a hiss.  Years ago, my son wanted to watch Lord of the Rings with his friends at his apartment, which was fine.  He later told me he'd brought it back and I forgot all about it.  Once a month, however, I go through my DVDs to dust and to ensure they're in order.  Lord of the Rings was missing!! OMG!!!! I searched everywhere, then called my son in a panic. Calm down, he advised and assured me that he'd dropped it off.  As I continued to dust, I eventually found it.  Yep, out of order, right behind Transporter, starring my boyfriend Jason Statham.  Needless to say, my son got an earful. (lol)  Basically, the movies have to be in alphabetical order no matter what.

2.  Lori Foster has her own shelf, so there's no reason for anything she's written to travel over to Shayla Black's area.  Cookbooks should not be beside Toni Blake's novels, etc. David Baldacci outgrew his designated space, so my husband wanting to help, tried to make more room on the bookcase.  Uh...thanks, but no thanks. Please do not slide 2 of Mr. Baldacci's books over to Christina Dodd's area thinking that's okay, and that you've made more room. Those two can never visit. Mr. Baldacci will just hang out in a special place until I redo his shelf.   Library books can't be mixed in with the TBR pile, ever.  That's a sure way for the library police to come knocking for overdue fines.

3.  If I like a song, I play it repeatedly, and you already know I can't help myself when it comes to cooking programs.  Lately, everywhere I go, Bad Blood by Taylor Swift and Vogue by Madonna travels with me, along with a book.

My son lives in another state, but if he saw me doing this, he'd tell me (and probably you, too) that "something is wrong with me", then shake his head. (lol)

4.  Finally - shoes.  Need I say more? (lol)
Actual pair of my shoes

Another pair of shoes (lol)

What about you?  What are you obsessed with to the point of frustration for friends and family?  Books, food, people, toys, movies, stuff?

  1. I am the same way with new favorite songs. I have a playlist on Youtube that I listen to and when I find a new song that I love, I listen to it on repeat all day long for days. My book shelves are an obsession because hubby wanted to help me make more room and put the books in the living room on the bookshelf in the bedroom But the tbr pile is in the living room until I read them and then they go in the bedroom bookshelf. lol

But my biggest obsession is my blogging drawer. I keep receipts, papers, folders ect in there and even though I know it looks like a mess, I know where everything is. So if hubby goes in it looking for a piece of paper and starts moving things around...I lose my mind.

    1. Kindred spirits unite! (lol) Your drawer and the stuff in it, and the books all have a place, right? Protect us from helpful husbands when it comes to our obsessions! (lol) I'm not alone, thank goodness on the song front! Thank you!!! (lol) Hugs...

  2. I'm also obsessed with filing, lol, and sometimes play my favorite songs on repeat :) My biggest obsession is making list : writing them in different colors, on beautiful stationary. When items happened to be crossed from time to time, I have to redo the list because it doesn't look as neat as before, of course ;) But I honestly spend more time making those list than actually acting on them ! It's very soothing.

    1. LOL! Those lists are important, right? I have to admit that I like the idea of writing down things that need to be done on nice paper. That may make me more likely to get it done. We're soooo in agreement on those songs. yes! Hugs...

  3. LOL I love your obsessions! Lori has a shelf of her own here too! My books aren't alphabetical after I read them but grouped by author and then with like authors in order of importance. ::snort::

Yay for shoes too! I have a TON of shoes which is weird since I live in flip flops ;) My obessions...herm. Storage and organizational things. I freaking LOVE them and buy them too often. Notebooks/pads. Elephants though I don't buy them anymore but I have them in near every room and in mass. lol

    1. After all the awesome books she writes, Lori definitely deserves her own space, right? I feel like she's earned it, for sure. My books are grouped like yours with one exception. Within the group it has to be alphabetized. (lol) DVD's must be in order alphabetically. I have a friend in Ohio who is obsessed with elephants, and has them everywhere, even in the car.

I probably need more organizational things to keep more order, but I know it will never happen. (lol) Some of those things are gorgeous! So kudos to you! Hugs...

  4. I'm obsessive when I cook, I lay everything out before hand I'm gonna need. If someone tries to help me in the kitchen my anxiety usually spikes lol. I dont like my things out of order. I also an obsessive counter, I count my change about a thousand times before I ever use it so it basically just sits around never to be used.

    1. That's interesting about the change and a really great way to save money for a serious emergency, right? (lol) I know exactly how you feel about having something moved once you lay it all out. It can really create havoc! Hugs...

  5. I want those peep toe booties!

I am obsessed with spices and herbs, I'm trying to figure out which dish I can use marjoram on and what other stuff I can pair it with; shower gels, I have Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter scents; and books of course!

    Happy weekend!

    1. I totally love those shoes, too! Something really fun about them. That's a good obsession to have and I can imagine that most professional chefs probably go through the same ritual as you. Every herb and spice has its place to make the food taste wonderful! Hugs...
