SEX: DO YOU TALK ABOUT IT WITH FRIENDS?/WIN A NASHVILLE TRIP

I had a friend once who regaled me with all the raw details of her sex life on the regular.  She discussed orgasms, the size of her partner's 'package', and how a man made her feel.  I've read various genres of romance all my life, and even watched a porn movie on a dare, but I could never get used to her casual conversations about those sexual escapades.
I'm not a prude, but I was always embarrassed and never knew what in the heck to say. I mean, was I supposed to reciprocate with my own info? Should I have agreed with what she talked about?
Most of the time I just laughed, or tried to change the subject. A few times I even said, "Girl - you're crazy!" and walked away. (lol) Even worse, she got a kick out of my reaction.

I'm the person who feels more comfy talking about your back pain, your kids, what you ate for dinner, that last really good book you read, or what you did on vacation.

When I was much younger I worked the overnight shift at Walgreen's and there always seemed to be this huge rush on condoms after 11pm.  So when a guy rushed up to the counter to pay, I could feel my face turning red all the time.(lol) It was also the item most likely to be stolen that time of night.

Has this ever happened to you? How did you handle it?  Do you talk about sex with your friends?  Does this happen with just young people, or is everyone on board?

COUPONS
Some coupons are more difficult to get than others, particularly those for meat and veggies.  One way to handle that is to write or send an email raving about the product, or to sign up for newsletters.
If they sell it in your grocery store, Fresh Express is really good. Sign up for their newsletter to get news in advance, as well as coupons you can use. http://www.freshexpress.com/

THEME PARKS
I'm a fan of amusement parks and can ride roller coasters all day long.  Did you know that the very first theme park opened in Santa Claus Indiana, and was called Santa Claus Land?  It was strictly a Christmas park, until they renamed themselves Holiday World.  So if you visit today, the attractions now include themes that include Halloween, Fourth of July and Thanksgiving.  What's even more fun, is that they can boast about having two of the longest water rollercoasters in the world.

  2. I know a couple of people like that, I don't discuss sex openly with people... only my partner. I do the same thing you do by saying you're crazy girl and walk away... some people have no issue with it... however; I think it is TMI...Have a great week Ro xox

    1. Crazy situation, for sure. I can talk on just about any other subject, but the sexcapades I have to pass on, so I totally agree with you. Hugs...

  4. I'm a bit of an introvert and really don't socialize much in real life. The fact is I don't have any friends except for online, so I don't have these types of conversations come up. lol I would probably just laugh and change the subject if it ever did come up though.

    1. I hear you on that Mary! Laughter and changing the subject or just walking away usually work quite well in most instances. Hugs...

  5. So not classy. I could see sharing very light details but gah yeah I had a 'friend' like her in college who would come into my office and share everything even if it was someone I knew and I was like NOOOOOO stop it! stop it! lol

    1. YIKES! Now that had to be rough to deal with someone who actually came right to your office to tell crazy stories! Ugh...(lol)

  6. It is totally embarrassing. I did have a friend like that once. I got used to it, honestly, but she just was one of those people who said whatever was on her mind. And I think she got a kick out of people's reactions, too...she loved seeing people embarrassed. But, underneath it all, it's just a cry for attention, that's all.

  7. I've had a fair few launch into the details of their sexual encounters and I've told them to stop- that's private, etc. Some were shocked when I stopped them because some how they equated 'social worker' (my job) with sex therapist (not even close). I was like 'no, I'm not a counselor or therapist for sex or anything else. I don't get paid enough'. And they would shrug and look disappointed like I was a let-down. I've not had a friend do it to me yet so I guess I can thank the lord for small favors, but I don't think it would bother me though I wouldn't reciprocate.

    1. Dang Sophia, that sounds crazy that someone would actually be disappointed that you didn't want to hear those deets, and mad props to you for having the courage to stop it at the front door. My friend did it for so many years and knew it embarrassed me, but once I started sort of not responding, the stories went away. (sort of-lol) Definitely no reciprocation on my part, but don't think she didn't ask! (lol) Hugs...

  10. Some guys get pretty graphic too, but I was always a little more reserved. Like it's personal you know? It takes all kinds I guess... I do think some people enjoy seeing if they can make others uncomfortable, or if they can draw you out. I have a friend who likes to push people's buttons like that... kinda glad I don't see him much even though he's a friend lol.

    Cool trip!

  12. Thank goodness none of my friends are like that. I don't mind light talk about it but I definitely don't need a play by play of your sex life.

  13. I've lived in the Nashville area most of my life, so it's always interesting to see what these trips involve. The Hermitage Hotel is NICE. It's also haunted...so I've always wanted to stay there.

As for friends who talk about sex openly, I don't get that. Yes, it always makes me uncomfortable. I was just raised that it's bad manners to talk about certain things. My biggest problem with it was the same as yours--I just never knew what to say in response!

    1. I love that you have some insider info Steph, and this is a doozy! I like the elegance of the hotel, but I then wonder how haunted is it? Will it make me run out in the middle of the night, or give me a smile from a friendly ghost? (lol) I think my friend enjoyed shocking me for sure. (lol) Hugs...
